TIM credit number: Strange as it may seem, I receive many messages from people asking me what the number to know TIM credit is and looking for tools to keep the consumption of their line under control. How do you say? Are you among these too? Have you just switched to TIM and have not yet had the opportunity to deepen the functioning of the operator assistance services? Don’t worry, it’s not something to be ashamed of.
For the less “technological” types, like you, it is normal not to know all the numbers or apps that allow you to check the remaining credit by heart … but don’t worry, I’m here today to help you fill these gaps. Take five minutes of your time and I will suggest you all the easiest ways to check the credit (and consumption) on your new TIM line.
We will first see how to know the remaining credit through the “classic” telephone assistance service made available by TIM (both vocally and via SMS), then we will deal with online tools, such as the TIM.it portal that can be used from any computer and the MyTIM Mobile application that allows you to control consumption and residual credit from smartphones of all major brands. Ready to start?
Know TIM credit by phone
Let’s start with the more “traditional” procedure, the one that allows you to know the remaining credit of your line through the TIM telephone assistance service. The number to know TIM credit is 40916 and fortunately it does not include the typing of complicated sequences of numbers to provide the requested information.
All you need to do to know your remaining credit is to open the dialer of your smartphone (the screen where the phone numbers are dialed), dial 40916 and start the call by pressing the handset icon . At this point, listen to the promotional message relating to the latest TIM offers, stay online without pressing any button and the recorded voice will communicate the amount of your remaining credit (on the date of the last recorded change). The call is totally free.
If you don’t want to waste time on the phone, you can also send an SMS to 40916 and write credit or credit remaining in the body of the message. Within a few seconds you will receive a reply SMS from TIM with the amount of your remaining credit. Also in this case the service is totally free.
Both the call and the SMS to 40916 should also work from abroad (as long as the local operator supports the Direct Call service), otherwise you can type the code * 123 # followed by Enter in the dialer and view the remaining credit at screen.
Unfortunately, at the time of writing, it is not possible to know the remaining TIM credit either from the fixed network or from another operator’s line. By calling 119 ( 339 9119119 from other operators’ mobile network, at the cost of a standard call) the option to know “minutes, SMS and residual data” is mentioned, but when you select it, you are invited to contact the service from your TIM mobile number.
Know TIM credit via app
If you feel ready to use a little more “technological” means, don’t think twice and install MyTIM on your smartphone. MyTIM is the official TIM application that allows you to monitor your residual credit, your consumption and allows you to sign new tariff plans with ease. It is compatible with Android and iPhone and is completely free.
That said, let’s get down to business! To find out your remaining credit with the MyTIM Mobile app, install the latter on your smartphone, start it, press the Next , Skip and Accept buttons and log in to your TIM account. If you do not yet have a TIM account, press the Register button and fill out the form that is proposed to you with your email address and the password you want to use to access the account. Then press the Next button , type your phone number , go ahead and complete the registration by verifying your number via SMS.
After registration and access, you will find the remaining credit on the top right of the main screen of the MyTIM app. By pressing the icon (€) located at the bottom you can top up your phone account using your credit card or PayPal.
Would you like to keep the remaining credit under control without having to open the MyTIM app from time to time? This can also be done. By installing the MyTIM app widget on the home screen of your smartphone (Android) or in the notification center (iPhone), you can keep under control the residual credit and the consumption of your line constantly without having to open the TIM application.
If you don’t know how to use widgets, don’t worry, it’s very simple. If you have an Android smartphone , all you have to do is call up the widget menu (usually just hold your finger on an empty spot on the home screen and select the Widget item from the menu that opens) and select the MyTIM Mobile widget from the screen that appears.
If you use an iPhone , however, you must call up the notification menu (by swiping your finger from the top of the screen downwards or, on iPhone X and later, from the top left corner downwards), after which you must swipe from left to right to activate the display of the widgets and you have to press the Edit button located at the bottom. At this point, find the entry related to MyTIM , press the (+) button located next to the latter and tap on the End item located at the top right to save the changes.
If you want, you can move the position of the widget simply by holding your finger on it (Android) or by returning to the notifications menu (iPhone), pressing the Edit button and changing the order of the widgets on the screen that opens.
Know TIM credit via PC
If you want, you can manage your TIM line (and therefore check your residual credit) also from the computer. All you have to do is connect to the TIM.it website and access the MyTIM Mobile service by clicking on the appropriate button ( My TIM ) located at the top right and filling in the form that is proposed to you with your credentials.
If you do not yet have an account, click on the Register button , enter your email address and the password you intend to use to access TIM’s online services in the appropriate text fields, move the lever located at the bottom of the page to the right and press Next . Then type your telephone number , check the box to declare to be holder of the same, go ahead and follow the directions on the screen to check your line and complete the registration.
Once the operation is complete, connect again to the home page of the TIM.it site, return to the My TIM menu and log in using the credentials you obtained a moment ago. Then select the MyTIM Mobile tab from the page that opens and you will find the amount of your remaining credit on the home screen of the line management panel.
How to activate InfoSMS
If you are one of those people who are constantly worried about the amount of their phone credit, it might find useful InfoSMS . This is a free TIM service that allows you to receive SMS with the remaining credit every time a call made from your mobile ends.
To activate it, you can call the number 40920 and follow the indications of the registered item (the combination to be pressed should be 3-2 ), you can send an SMS to 40916 with the word INFOSMS ON or you can select the appropriate item from the Services tab of the MyTIM service online.
Deactivating TIM SMS Info is equally simple. If, in case of second thoughts, you want to know how to do it, read the tutorial I wrote on the subject. Alternatively, you can contact a TIM operator via telephone or via the Internet and ask the latter directly to activate or deactivate the InfoSMS service. To find out more about how to speak with a TIM operator , consult the guide I have dedicated to the topic.
