Did you not like the photo editing program I proposed earlier? No? Well, in that case I invite you to use Photoshop. This is the photo editing program par excellence through which any modification you have in mind for your shots becomes possible. However, keep in mind that Photoshop is a paid software and its purchase is currently linked to the subscription of a monthly subscription to Adobe’s Creative Cloud service but in any case it is possible to use the program without spending even a cent for a trial period of 7 days. . Another great photo editing program is PhotoFiltre. It is a free software thanks to which it is possible to carry out various editing operations on photos and images in a very practical and intuitive way. The software is compatible only and exclusively with Windows and has a very simple interface and puts and offers a wide range of brushes for all tastes.
To start editing photos with PhotoFiltre just double-click on the program icon that has been added to the desktop, press on the item File located in the upper left part of the software window and choose the item Open …. Then select the image on which you intend to act and wait for it to be loaded by the program. Then you can make the desired changes using the toolbar located at the top and the one with brushes, shapes and stamps on the right.
Paint.NET is another good photo editing program that you should consider. It is a free software that was born as a revised and corrected version of the classic Microsoft Paint and that in a short time has managed to become one of the favorite photo editing programs for users who have no particular needs other than to “fix” a little one’s shots. The software is available only and exclusively for Windows, it allows you to adjust colors, brightness and contrast of the photos as well as to correct red eyes and various other defects. The program also allows you to apply filters that can also act on individual image layers.
To start editing photos with Paint.NET start the program, presses on the item File placed at the top right, presses on New one… and select the photo to act on. Once the photo is open you can start editing it using the bar Instruments located on the left, selecting the desired colors from the window Colors and choosing the levels on which to operate using the window Levels. The window Chronology instead it shows you all the files that have been recently opened.
Pixelmator (OS X)
If you are still looking for a program to edit photos, if you use a Mac and if you do not want to spend the amounts required by a professional software like Photoshop you can opt for Pixelmator. It is an extremely powerful yet simple to use photo editing application that does not offer the same degree of versatility as the famous Adobe program but can replace it very well in numerous circumstances. Pixelmator can be purchased for 29.99 euros on the Mac App Store but possibly a free trial version lasting 30 days is also available. Pixelmator has a workspace divided into three parts: on the left there is the bar with the most important photo editing tools (brushes, palette, selection and so on), in the center you find the photo to be edited while on the right there are panels for managing levels and applying filters.
To start editing photos with Pixelmator, just press on the item File located in the upper left part of the menu bar, then taking care to choose to open the file on which you intend to go to act. Then use the tools and resources that I indicated earlier to modify the shot displayed as you prefer.
Seashore (OS X)
Another good program for editing photos on OS X is without a doubt Seashore. It is a software in some ways similar to GIMP that adapts to the needs of most Mac users who want to have classic photo editing tools at their disposal to edit their photos. Seashore supports layers, offers a small amount of effects, and a toolbox with advanced tools.
To edit photos with Seashore start the program, then press the item File present on the menu bar, click on Open …, choose the photo you want to act on and wait for it to open in the program window. To make changes to the images use the bar with all the tools located at the top center while choosing the colors you can click on the appropriate boxes located at the top right.
