How to zoom in Minecraft: You are a fan of Minecraft and, in addition to playing it during your free time, you also like to watch videos made by other players who, like you, love this famous video game developed by Mojang. In some of these videos, however, you have noticed that zooms were made on the game world and, therefore, you are curious to know how to be able to perform the same operation during your games.
How do you say? Is this really the case? Then you don’t have to worry, because I have all the answers you are looking for. In the next chapters, in fact, I will show you how to zoom in on Minecraft using procedures that will require the installation of an add-on. If, however, you do not want to employ any mod, I will also explain how to obtain an equally satisfactory result by simply changing the game settings.
Then? What do you say to immediately begin reading this guide of mine without wasting further time? Do you agree? Very well! So let’s get to work immediately: what you need to do is sit comfortably and take all the time you need to better understand the procedures to be put into practice. All I have to do is wish you a good read and, above all, have fun!
How to zoom in Minecraft with OptiFine
If you want to zoom in on Minecraft , my advice is to use the OptiFine mod . Have you never heard of it? No problem, let’s fix it right away. OptiFine is a third-party add-on for Minecraft that allows you to optimize the game, thanks to the numerous advanced graphic parameters that can be customized.
The first step you need to take to use it is to connect to the OptiFine website and identify the most recent version of the mod relating to the version of Minecraft installed on your PC. For example, if you have Minecraft version 1.14.4, you will have to rely on the OptiFine 1.14.4 section.
If the version of Minecraft installed is more updated than the last one available for OptiFine, you can think of changing it directly from the Minecraft launcher, following the instructions that I have given you in my guide dedicated to the topic.
At this point, click on the Mirror item , which you find next to the most recent build (it is usually the one at the top of the list) and start the download of the OptiFine installation package, pressing on the word Download OptiFine_1.x.xx_HD_xx.jar .
In doing so, the download of the OptiFine .JAR file will start on your PC. We are almost there! The next step is to double-click on the file you just downloaded, which will automatically start with Java . In the box that is shown to you, first click on the Install button and then on OK , in order to complete the installation of the Minecraft mod on your PC.
Double clicking on the file does not display the screen shown? Probably the reason lies in the fact that the association of JAR files with Java did not take place. To solve this problem, right-click on the .JAR file and, in the context menu, select the items Open with> Java (TM) Platform SE binary .
At this point, start Minecraft normally, by double-clicking on its icon on the Windows desktop, and press the ▲ icon , which you will find next to the Play button . Once this is done, in the box you see, select the OptiFine profile and press the Play button again , in order to start Minecraft with OptiFine support.
Once you enter a new game or an existing one, you may immediately notice improved graphics, as some parameters of the graphic settings are changed. Although the improvements added by this mod are interesting, this is not the place to talk about it: you can deepen the topic in my guide on how not to let Minecraft get lagged .
Now, however, I will focus on the only zoom function available thanks to this mod. To zoom in, simply hold down the C key on the keyboard so that the image will be zoomed in on the focus of the viewfinder in the center of the screen. Was it easy, am I right?
By releasing the button, the zoom level will return to normal. If you want to disable OptiFine, all you have to do is select the normal Minecraft profile from the drop-down menu next to the Play button of the launcher.
How to zoom in Minecraft without Optifine
Don’t want to install any Minecraft mods to zoom? Don’t worry, you can very well proceed without the help of any add-ons. All you have to do is change the game settings to simulate the zoom effect.
The first thing you need to do, after starting Minecraft and logging into a game session, is to pause the title, using the Esc key . Once this is done, in the panel that is shown to you, select the Options item , to access the Minecraft settings panel.
In the new screen you see, find the Field of View option and move the lever to the left, in order to decrease the FOV of the game screen: the lower the level set, the greater the zoom level applied.
Unfortunately, whenever you want to increase or decrease the zoom level, you will have to act on this item in the settings panel, resulting in a less immediate procedure than the one I described in the chapter relating to OptiFine .
To play with the zoom level set, simply press the Esc key to return to the game session. In case you want to restore the zoom level to the default one, follow the same procedure that I have indicated in the previous paragraphs, however moving the lever of the Field of View option to the Normal value .
