How to uninstall Windows 10 programs

In order to uninstall Windows 10 programs, you can first turn to the appropriate function attached to the Windows Control Panel . So, to begin with, click on the Start button (the flag located in the lower left corner of the screen) on the taskbar and, in the search field that is shown to you at this point, type control panel then click on the first result in the list, the one you find in correspondence of the word Best Match .

In the window that is now shown to you on the desktop, click on the item  Uninstall a program that you find under the word Programs , on the left. If you cannot see these items, make sure that the Category option is selected in the menu for View located at the top right (and if not, select it, of course). Alternatively, type uninstall a program in the search field located at the top right and click on the item Uninstall a program that is shown to you in the window.

Now, locate the software that you intend to remove from the list of programs that is shown to you, select it by left clicking on it and then press the Uninstall  or Uninstall / Change button located at the top. If asked, indicate your willingness to want to start the procedure to uninstall Windows 10 programs and wait a few moments for this to be started first and then complete (in some cases you may be asked to confirm execution several times operation). Keep in mind that at the end, you may be asked to restart the system to apply the changes made, if so, consent by pressing the appropriate button visible on the screen.

Once the entire uninstall procedure is complete, the previously selected program will be removed and will no longer be available on your computer. Clearly, in case of second thoughts you can always and again install the removed application.

Keep in mind that in case you need to uninstall multiple programs on Windows 10 you will have to carry out the steps I have just described for each application you intend to act on. I know, it’s a bit of a nuisance but unfortunately at the moment the operating system does not integrate a function that allows you to remove multiple programs at the same time, sorry.

In addition to the “normal” programs, applications are also present on Windows 10. Some of these are already pre-installed on the system and cannot be removed while others can be deleted without problems. The difference between uninstalling Windows 10 programs and removing applications lies in the procedure that must be taken to succeed. In the case of apps, in fact, it is necessary to take advantage of the appropriate function attached to the System Settings section .

To delete one or more apps from Windows 10 you must therefore click on the   Windows Start button after which you must click on the Settings icon   (the one in the shape of a gear wheel ) from the menu that opens and you must click on the System icon   located at the top on the left in the window which is now shown to you on the desktop.

Once this is done, select the  App and features item  from the left sidebar, click on the name of the program to be removed and press the Uninstall  button  twice in a row. In most cases, to complete the removal procedure of a program, just click on  Next  or  Next .

By default, applications installed on Windows 10 are sorted by name but you can change the display mode by expanding the drop-down menu at the top and selecting, depending on what your needs and preferences are, l Sort by size option (to sort apps by their size) or Sort by installation date (to sort apps by their installation date)

How to uninstall Windows 10 programs

Sometimes it happens that the procedure to uninstall Windows 10 programs seen together in the previous lines does not fully do its duty and that the eliminated software leaves unwanted traces on the disk and in the registry. To avoid this, just use a software like  Revo Uninstaller .

Then connect to the official website of the program via the link I just provided you and then click on the Free download button   located next to the wording Revo Unistaller  Freeware  to download it to your PC. Alternatively, if you do not want to install new programs on your computer, you can download the portable version of the application by clicking on the Download button   located in the  Revo Uninstaller Freeware Portable section .

When the download is complete, if you have downloaded the standard version of Revo Uninstaller, open the installation package of the program ( revosetup.exe ) and click first on  Yes  and then on  OK . Then affix the check mark next to the item  I accept the terms of the license agreement  and conclude the setup by clicking first on  Next  three consecutive times and then on  Install  and  Finish .

If instead you have downloaded the portable version of Revo Uninstaller, all you have to do is open the ZIP package that contains it and extract its contents to a folder of your choice. Next you need to enter the x64 folder   (if you use a 64-bit operating system) or the x86 folder   (if you use a 32-bit operating system) and you must start  RevoUn.exe  to launch the application.

As soon as you start Revo Uninstaller, you will find yourself in front of the list of programs installed on your PC. Then select the icon of the software you want to delete, press the Uninstall button   located at the top left and, if possible, complete the standard uninstallation procedure of the application.

If the Revo Uninstaller interface appears to be in English instead of Italian, translate it by clicking on the Options button   at the top and selecting Italian  from the drop-down menu for choosing the language.

After the standard uninstall procedure of the selected program, put the check mark next to the Moderate item   in Revo Uninstaller, click on the Scan  button  located at the bottom right and wait for all the files, folders and registry keys to be found which refer to the software just deleted.

Finally, click on the Next  and  Yes  buttons  in order to be able to remove all the elements found by Revo Uninstaller, wait for you to be shown the residual files of the program that are still left on Windows 10 and delete them by clicking first on  Finished  and then on  Yes .
