How to turn up the microphone volume on Skype: Whenever you make a call on Skype, whoever is on the other side complains about the too low volume of your microphone. Would you like to do something to improve the situation but you don’t know where to put your hands? Don’t worry, I’ll help you.
Skype includes a feature that automatically adjusts the microphone volume, which sometimes doesn’t do its job perfectly. In the guide that I am about to offer you, we will therefore see how to disable this function and how to turn up the microphone volume on Skype manually. It’s a real no-brainer.
If you want to know how to turn up the microphone volume on Skype and you are using a Windows PC, the first step you need to take is to start the program, log in with your account and select the item Options from the menu Instruments. In the window that opens, select the item Audio configuration which is on the left and remove the check mark from the item Automatically change microphone settings. Then move the bar to the right Volume on the microphone and click on the button Save to save the settings.
Are you in the middle of a call? So to increase the microphone volume and allow your interlocutors to hear you better, click on the icon signal located at the bottom right (the one similar to the Wi-Fi icon, with the white “cleats”), select the tab Microphone in the box that opens, remove the check mark from the item Automatically change microphone settings and move the volume indicator to the right. Easier than that?
If you are using a Mac, for turn up the microphone volume on Skype you need to disable the application’s automatic volume adjustment and adjust the microphone appropriately in the system preferences.
Then start Skype, log in to the service and select the item Preferences from the menu Skype. In the window that opens, select the tab Audio / Videoremove the tick from the item Automatically adjusts the microphone settings and click on the red button located at the top left to close the Skype settings and save the changes.
To adjust the microphone volume, open the System Preferences and click on the icon Sound. In the window that opens, select the tab Entranceclick on the item relating to the microphone (eg. Internal microphone) from the list Choose a device for audio input and move the indicator of the Input volume right to increase the microphone volume.
