Now, click on the Windows Explorer or File Explorer icon located on the taskbar (it’s a yellow folder), locate your iPod from the left sidebar where all the devices connected to the computer are listed and click on it after which enable viewing hidden files on your PC. Now open the folder called iPod_control and select the Music folder inside it. Then copy the folder in question to your computer desktop.

Then you can then complete the procedure by which to transfer music from iPod to PC by accessing iTunes again and importing the folder previously saved on the desktop by clicking on the File item   at the top left and then choosing the Add to library item attached to the menu that is shown to you. YamiPod

If you prefer to use special programs to transfer music from iPod to PC, I suggest you use YamiPod . It is a free software, usable without having to perform any type of installation and available not only for Windows operating systems but also for OS X and Linux that allows you to manage the Apple media player without iTunes and, among other things, to transfer music from iPod to PC.

If this solution interests you, the first step you need to take is to click here so that you can immediately connect to the main web page of the program. Then click on the downloads item at the top, scroll the web page that is shown to you and press on YamiPod for Windows located under the Binaries item .

Then choose to save the program on your computer and wait for the download of the program to start and complete. Then click with the right mouse button on the compressed archive just obtained, select the  Extract all …  item from the menu that is shown to you and then click Extract .

At this point, make sure iTunes is not running after which start YamiPod by double clicking on the program file attached to the window that has opened on the desktop and if you have not already done so, disconnect your iPod from the computer using the special cable that it was provided with the purchase package of the device. Subsequently, in case a window should open which warns you of possible interference with iTunes, click on Yes .

Now, to be able to transfer music from iPod to PC, click on the name of the artist you are interested in using the Artist column   or press on the name of an album attached to the Album column  . If, on the other hand, you want to view all the songs on the iPod, select the  All  in  Artist  or  Album item . Continue by selecting the songs to be transferred to your computer in the box below, then click on the songs with the right mouse button and select the  Copy song to… item .

Using the window shown at this point, specify the name of the files that will be saved on the computer. Furthermore, if you want to save the songs in the format  Artist Name – Title of the song , select  Artist – Title  from the drop-down menu located next to the item  Filename . Using the drop-down menu next to the Destination path item,   you can instead specify how the files will be organized. Then proceed to specify the location where you intend to save the files on your computer by clicking on the Destination button   and choosing the folder of interest.

Once you have completed the procedure by which to transfer music from iPod to PC you will find the songs chosen in the directly in the previously selected folder.

Now make sure iTunes is not running after which start PC iPod by double clicking on its icon that has been added to the desktop, wait for the software window to be visible on the screen then click first on Yes and then on the Register Later button . Then click on the button above the iPod to Computer item , then select the song or songs you wish to transfer to your computer and finally click on the Transfer to Computer button which is located at the bottom right. If on your iPod there are not only songs but also other multi-media content and you cannot find the songs of your interest before starting the transfer, you can select the Music only tab from the left sidebar in order to view only the music.
