How to speed up Windows 8: It has been days for now that your trusted computer with Windows 8 installed seems to have been seized by an incredible attack of slowness as well as by a clear drop in performance. In such a situation, however, before throwing in the towel permanently and rushing to buy a new PC, it is possible to try speed up Windows 8. How? Well, nothing simpler: following the directions and suggestions I will provide you in this guide.

In the following lines, in fact, I’m going to explain everything you can do to try to speed up Windows 8. How do you say? Are you worried about operations out of your reach? But no, you’re wrong. Contrary to what may seem to speed up Windows 8, it is actually a fairly simple operation to perform. All you need is just a little free time, a minimum of concentration and an active and functioning Internet connection to find some of the tools that I am going to suggest to you.

So if you really want to find out what you need to do to speed up Windows 8, I invite you to get comfortable, sit in front of your PC and immediately start reading the following lines. I am sure that in the end you will be able to “make a spider out of the hole”. Ready? Yes? Well, let’s get started.

If you want to try to speed up Windows 8, I suggest that you first delete all unnecessary and / or temporary files from the PC hard disk and clean the Windows registry by removing the traces left by the software no longer installed on the system. To do these you can use Glary Utilities, a free suite of tools that allows you to tidy up your operating system with a single click and quickly and, above all, safely.

To try to speed up Windows 8 using Glary Utilities click here to connect to the program’s website, then press on the item Download Now to start downloading it to your computer. Download is complete open, double clicking on it, the file you just downloaded and, in the window that opens, click first on Run is Yup and then on OK is Forward.

Then accept the conditions of use of the program by pressing the button I accept and click on first Forward, then on Install and then on end to end the installation process and start Glary Utilities. Also remove the tick from the entry Join the customer experience improvement program if you do not want to send anonymous usage statistics to the software manufacturer.

In the window at this point, the tab will open 1-click maintenance, Click on the green button Search for errors to start a system scan, click on when done Repair errors to delete temporary files from the system, clean the registry and repair all other problems detected in the PC.

Another excellent solution to try to speed up Windows 8 is then to remove all the various and any programs pre-installed on the computer by the manufacturer. I refer to trial versions of antivirus, multimedia programs, additional toolbar for the browser and other programs that are essentially of dubious utility.

To remove all these programs, I suggest you resort to using Should I Remove It?. If you have never heard of it, know that it is a free application that analyzes all the programs installed on the computer and signals to the user which can and must be removed because they are useless or even considered dangerous.

To download Should I Remove It? on your PC click here to connect immediately to the program’s website, then press the button first Download (Free!) and then on Download “Should I Remove It?”.

Once the download is complete open, by double-clicking on it, the file you just downloaded and in the window that opens click first on Yup and then on Next. Then accept the conditions of use of the program by placing a check mark next to the item I Accept the terms in the License Agreement and click on first Next three times in succession, then up install and then Finish to complete the installation process and to start Should I Remove It ?.

In the window that will open at this point, locate the programs that have the Removal with the highest percentage, i.e. the most useless and / or dangerous ones, and search for information on them by clicking on the button What is it?. Pressing the button will open the Should I Remove It website with a description of the selected software and the reasons why it should be removed. Then click on the button Uninstall to start the uninstallation procedure.

Another excellent solution that could allow you to speed up Windows 8 is then to disable the visual effects and animations of the operating system or all that series of “accessory” effects that make the user experience of the OS more pleasing to the eye. but which in some cases slow down, and not a little, the use of Windows.

To disable visual effects and animations on Windows 8, go to File Explorer pressing on the icon depicting a yellow folder attached to the taskbar, then click with the right mouse button on the icon This PC located in the left sidebar and select the item Property from the menu that is shown to you.

In the window that opens, click on the item Advanced system settings present in the left sidebar, went to the card advanced and then click on the button Settings … related to the section Performance. Now put the check mark next to the entry Adjust for best performance and click on first apply and then on OK to disable all the visual effects of Windows 8. If you don’t prefer the old gray style of Windows windows you can leave the check next to the item Use visual styles for windows and buttons.

In the unfortunate event that the use of the software that I have recommended and the implementation of the stratagems indicated in the previous lines should have no effect, you can try to speed up Windows 8 by returning the system status to the factory settings using the appropriate function of recovery present in the OS.

To try to speed up Windows 8 by restoring the computer, press the button depicting the Windows logo attached to the taskbar, click on the magnifying glass displayed in the upper right part of the Start Screen, type in the search field displayed pc settings then press on the first result displayed.
