How to know who blocked you on Facebook

Before explaining to you how to see who blocked you on Facebook, I must first state some issues of fundamental importance.

In fact, you must know that, unless you ask the person concerned directly, there is no official solution to understand if someone has blocked us on Facebook.

Therefore, in case you were wondering if they exist app to see who blocked you on Facebook, you must know that the answer is no. Indeed, if you find apps or online services that allow you to do this, stay away from it, as it is scams or malware.

Having said that, you can try to guess if someone has blocked you on Facebook – without having absolute certainty, however – by implementing a series of strategies that I am about to illustrate below.

Check your friends list

How to see friends recently added by a friend on Facebook from tablets

The first solution you can put in place, to check if a person has blocked you on Facebook, is to check yours friends list. In the case of a block, in fact, this user will no longer be present in the list of your friends on Facebook.

To get started, start the social network app on your device Android (after downloading it from Play Store or from alternative stores) or on iOS / iPadOS (after having taken it fromApp Store). Or if you prefer, log into Facebook from PC, by connecting to the its official website, press on yours profile picture and then select the tab Friends, to view the list of the same.

Therefore, use the integrated search engine, to identify the name of the person you suspect has blocked you. Based on this research, if the user in question does not appear in the list of your Facebook friends, then he may have blocked you (excluding the case in which he has not deactivated or deleted his profile from the social network).

Check the tags

Tag Facebook person

Another solution that you can put in place to understand if someone has blocked you on Facebook is the check the tags: usually, in fact, after being blocked by someone, Facebook automatically deletes the reciprocal links made through the tags.

So, if you recently shared a post, a photo, a link or posted a comment in which you tagged the person you think may have blocked you, try to recover it: if the tag has disappeared and only the name and surname of the ” suspected ”, no longer being able to click or tap on it, you may have been blocked.

You can come to the same conclusion if you are still offered the option to click or press on the name of your contact but, after doing so, you see an error message (eg. Content not available or Connection error).

However, do not make rash judgments, as your friend may have voluntarily removed the tag, or deactivated / deleted his profile.

Use Facebook search

Search on Facebook

Another method that you can use to try to deduce if you have been blocked on Facebook by a person is to search for the “suspect” directly in the search engine of the social network. In case of blocking, in fact, you may not be able to find his account.

Therefore, even in this case, launch the social network app on your device or log in to your account from PC, to display the Facebook home screen.

Once this is done, use the search engine located at the top and type first name And surname of the user you think has blocked you, then confirming with the key Enter. If you can find and view his profile, via the tab People, then it is clear that you have not been blocked.

Otherwise, a block may have actually been applied to you, always excluding the case of a possible deactivation or cancellation of the profile by the user in question.

Check the Messenger chat

Chat Messenger

If you suspect that you have been blocked by someone, you can use Messenger (the Facebook chat app) to try to understand more: in case of blocking by a user, in fact, you will be shown an error message in the social network chat.

So, first of all, if you intend to proceed from mobile devices, start the app of Messenger that you have installed on your smartphone or tablet Android (you can also get the app through alternative stores) or iOS / iPadOS, to view the list of active conversations.

Once this is done, press on first name of the user that you think has blocked you: in case of affirmative result, in fact, you will be shown the wording This person is not available on Messenger and, therefore, you will be prevented from sending him new messages.

You can also check from PC, by logging into your Facebook account from the official website of the social network. In this case, in fact, click on the icon of Messenger at the top and, in the chat screen, locate and click on the conversation that took place previously with the user you think has blocked you.

At this point, if you have received a block from the user in question, you will be prevented from sending him new messages and, in addition, you will see the error message This person is not available on Messenger.

If this is the case, I suggest you seek the help of a mutual friend, that is of a person who, with absolute certainty, has in the list of his Facebook friends the one or the one who you suspect has blocked you.

All you need to do is contact the friend in question and ask him to look for the person you suspect has blocked you in friends list, as explained in the previous chapter.
