If you want to act from smartphone or tablet, to be able to view the chats stored on Messenger, you have to start the famous app on your device, search for the conversation you are interested in using the appropriate function and press on the name of the user with whom you chatted.
To proceed, therefore, start Messenger on your device Android or iOS, log in to your account (if you have not already done so) and tap on the i icon two men located at the bottom of the screen. At this point, tap on the text field Near located at the top, write the first name of the person or group related to the chat you have archived and then select the correct name from those proposed, in order to view the history of the conversation.
I remind you that, by sending a new message to the chat in question, it will be shown again in the Messenger recent chats screen.

- From Facebook – go up This Page from the browser you usually use to surf the Internet, log into Facebook (if you have not already done so), locate the archived conversation of your interest in the sidebar located on the left and, to view the history of messages in it, let us know click above. Furthermore, I point out that by clicking on the cartoon icon at the top right and selecting the item Message requests from the menu that opens, you can view the messages you have received from people who are not your friends on Facebook and who, therefore, do not appear on the main Messenger screen.
- From Messenger.com – go up This Page from the browser you usually use to surf the Internet, access Messenger (if you haven’t already) and click on one of the archived chats you want to view the messages for (on the left).
- From Messenger for Windows 10 – start theMessenger application for Windows 10, log in to your account (if necessary), click on the tab People located below, type in search bar placed at the top the first name of the person corresponding to the archived chat you want to view and click on theirs nominative, to view the history of sent messages.
I remind you that if you send a new message to a previously archived chat, it will be restored and displayed in the recent conversations section of Messenger.

Once logged in, press the button (≡) and tap on Your name in the screen that opens, so as to access your diary. At this point, tap the button Activity log placed immediately under the profile photo (on iOS you must first press the icon of thegear located under the profile photo and then select the item Activity log from the menu that opens).
Once on the screen Activity log, open the menu Category located at the top and select the item Not visible in the diary. On the next screen, then locate the post you want to return to view in your diary, tap the symbol (⌵) located next to it, select the item Show in the diary from the menu that opens and that’s it.

At this point, click on the item Not visible in the diary in the left sidebar, locate the post you want to make visible again in the diary, click on the icon prohibition located next to the latter and select the item Visible in the diary from the menu that opens.
At this point, returning to your diary, you should see the post of your interest again where it was before it was hidden by you. Easier than that?
