How to search for photos on Google: Are you looking for one or more images to be used to enrich a document you are working on with your favorite word processor but you have no idea of ​​having to find the material of your interest? To search for photos on Google, the first thing you need to do is to sit in front of your computer and double-click on the web browser icon you usually use to surf the net. Once done, type in the address bar then press the button Submit present on the keyboard. Once the Google home page is displayed, press on the item Images which is placed at the top. Once this is done you should find yourself in front of the bar to search through Google Images. Then proceed by clicking on the latter and typing the keyword referring to the photos you are looking for (for example cats, computer, cakes and so on). Then presses the blue button depicting a magnifying glass that you find placed on the side.

As an alternative to the procedure I have just indicated, you can search for photos on Google by uploading a specific image on your computer or by indicating the url of a photo present online so that you can find what is similar available on the net. To do this, click on the icon depicting a camera located next to the search bar, select Paste image URL or Upload an image, paste the url of the reference image or upload it from the computer based on the choice you make and then start the search.

In the new web page that at this point that will be shown to you click on the button Research tools located at the top right and select the type of image you need from the menu Rights of use. So choose the option Marked for reuse to search for photos to be freely used in personal and commercial projects, choose the item Marked for reuse with changes to search for photos to edit and use freely in personal and commercial projects, select the option Marked for non-commercial reuse to search for images to be reused only in personal projects or select the item Marked for non-commercial reuse with changes to find images to be reused only in personal projects but which foresee the possibility of being modified. Alternatively, you can choose not to filter photos by license by selecting the item Don’t filter by license but, this is good that you keep this in mind, in doing so you could run the risk of running into copyrighted images.

Then presses the button Guy which is always placed at the top and, from the drop-down menu that is shown to you, select the item Photo to restrict the search for images only and exclusively to photographs. Of course, if you don’t think it appropriate, you can also leave the action Any kind which is already selected by default or you can select Faces, Clip art, Drawings or animated to search for photos with faces, clip art, drawings or animated images respectively.

Then keep in mind that always through the options visible after clicking on the button Research tools you can have access to various other options to refine your Google photo search. By pressing on the various items available you can for example search for photos on Google with a specific size, you can search for photos based on a specific color and much more. If necessary, you can also refine your search by clicking on the appropriate suggestions under the search bar at the top of the page.

Once you have identified the photo you are interested in, click on its thumbnail and then press the button View image in order to view the selected image in full size. You can then download the selected photo by clicking on it with the right mouse button and selecting the item Save, Save image or Save image as (the options available may vary based on the web browser you use). Repeat this simple procedure for every single photo you want to download. Eventually, before downloading a specific photo, you can also view the web page to which it is attached by clicking on the button Visit the page placed next to the preview.

After having looked for photos on Google and after having downloaded them, you can view the downloaded files by accessing the folder Download of your computer.

Search for photos on Google from smartphones and tablets

The procedure to search for photos on Google that I have already indicated to you can be performed without problems even from mobile, using any smartphone or tablet enabled for surfing the net.

To search for photos on Google from a smartphone or tablet, all you need to do is access the home screen of your device, press the icon of the web browser that you generally use to access the mobile Internet and follow the instructions I have provided you in the previous lines.

However, keep in mind that going to search for photos on Google from a smartphone or tablet after viewing a full-size image to be able to download it to your device you will have to press on it until the menu appears Save, Save image or Download (the items may vary depending on the platform and device in use).

Once downloaded, you can then view the photos downloaded by Google on your device by accessing the photo gallery of the latter and then pressing on the image of your interest.
