How to return administrator of a Facebook page: The other day you made a disconcerting discovery: you are no more administrator than one Facebook page that you managed with some of your friends. It may be that one of the other administrators has mistakenly changed your page role, excluding you from managing the page. Preliminary information

As I already told you in the introduction of the article, return administrator of a Facebook page it is feasible, but on one condition: that those who currently administer it are willing to change roles and re-appoint you as administrator.

As you can well understand, only those who are already administrators of a page have the possibility to appoint other users as administrators of the same. This means that, if you want to make sure that you are re-appointed administrator of a Facebook page, you must contact users who already are (perhaps via a private message) explicitly asking them to give you this role back.

If those who are administrators of the Facebook page do not agree to do this, unfortunately you will not be able to do anything to regain your role (if not report it as “stolen” to Facebook, but this is an extreme measure, to be taken only in case of actual theft of the page, not for “disagreements” with other users). If, on the other hand, the current administrators decide to appoint you again as an administrator, they will be able to do so by following the procedure indicated in next chapters.

How to appoint administrator of a Facebook page

For appoint the administrator of a Facebook page, you must go to the settings of the same and change the roles through the appropriate function available on the social network.

The information in the next paragraphs can be useful not only to you (in case you are the administrator of a page and need to appoint another user as such), but also to the administrators of the page who need to change your role within the itself, if they have difficulty in doing so.

Android

To appoint another person administrator of a Facebook page on Android, know that it is possible to act both from the official app of Facebook than from the app Facebook Business Suite, which is used to manage the pages of the social network and those of Instagram at 360 °. Here is in detail how to proceed.

  • From the Facebook app – log in to Facebook, tap the button (≡), tap on page name whose roles you want to change, tap the button Other (…) located at the top right and select the item Settings from section Page controls. Press, therefore, on the item Roles of the Page, tap the button Add a person to the Page, write the password of your account in the appropriate text field and presses the blue button Keep it going. Finally, write the name of the person you want to appoint as administrator, select the item Administrator from the menu Roles of the Page, tap the button add and wait for the user to accept the request.
  • From the Facebook Business Suite app – log in to Facebook, choose the page to manage by tapping on the first thumbnail placed in the lower left and then on the one placed in the upper left. Then press the icon of squares located at the bottom right, tap on the item Settings, go up Change the Page roles and tap the button Add a person to the Page. Now, write the password of your Facebook account in the appropriate text field, presses the blue button Keep it going, write the name of the person you want to appoint as administrator, select the item Administrator from the menu Roles of the Page, tap the blue button add at the bottom and wait for the user to accept the request.

The user you have decided to appoint as the page administrator will be notified of this via a notification: by pressing the button Accept his appointment will become effective. Once accepted, the user you designated as administrator will have the same permissions you have to make changes to the page.

In the event that you want to appoint as administrator of a page a user who already has a role in the management of the same (e.g. is Editor), tap on the symbol of pencil placed in correspondence with his first name (in the screen Roles of the Page Facebook app or screen Edit Page Roles in the Facebook Business Suite), type the password of your Facebook account in the appropriate text field, click on the button Keep it going, select the item Administrator in the screen that opens and then save the changes by pressing the button Save. The changes will be applied instantly.

If you want to proceed from iPhone, know that also in this case it is possible to act both from the official app of Facebook than from the app Facebook Business Suite Facebook, which, as I explained earlier, is used to manage its pages on the social network.

  • From the Facebook app – log in to Facebook, tap the button (≡), select the page name whose roles you want to change, click on the button Other (…) located in the upper right corner and select the item Settings. Then, press on the voice Roles of the Page, tap the button Add a person to the Page, write the password of your account in the appropriate text field and presses the blue button Keep it going. Finally, write the name of the person you want to appoint as administrator, select the item Administrator from the menu Roles of the Page, tap the button add and wait for the user to accept the role.
  • From the Facebook Business Suite app – log in to Facebook, tap on thumbnail placed at the bottom left and then on the one at the top left, choose the page of your interest, touch the icon with i squares placed at the bottom right, click on the item Settings, go up Change the Page roles and tap the button Add a person to the Page. Now, write the password of your Facebook account in the appropriate text field, press the blue button Keep it going, write the name of the person you want to appoint as administrator, select the item Administrator from the menu Roles of the Page, tap the blue button add at the bottom and wait for the user to accept the request.

The user you have decided to appoint as the page administrator will be notified of this via a notification: by pressing the button Accept, your appointment will become valid. Once they accept the admin role, the user you designate as an admin will have the same permissions you have to make changes to the page.

In the event that you want to appoint a person who already holds a management role in the page as administrator (eg. Editor), tap on the symbol of pencil placed in correspondence with his first name (in the screen Roles of the Page Facebook app or screen Edit Page Roles in that of the Facebook Business Suite Facebook), write the password of your Facebook account in the appropriate text field, presses the button Keep it going, select the item Administrator in the screen that opens and then save the changes made by pressing the button Save. The changes will be effective immediately.

Computer

To appoint another person administrator of a Facebook page by acting as computer, log into Facebook on his main page, click on the button (▾) at the top right (in the social network bar) and click on Facebook page name of your interest.

Then press on the item Settings located at the top right, go up Page roles (in the left sidebar), open the drop-down menu located in the section Assign a new role on the Page and select the option Administrator from the latter.

Now, to assign the administrator role to the person you are interested in, type theirs first name or yours email address in the text field Type a name or email, click on the blue button add on the right and confirm the operation by typing the password of your Facebook account. Finally, click on the button Send present in the box that appeared on the screen.

The user you have appointed as administrator will be notified of this via a notification: they will then have to click on the button Accept to become the page administrator. I remind you that once he accepts, the user you have designated as administrator will have the same permissions that you have to make changes to the page.

In the event that you want to appoint a page administrator a person who already holds a role in the management of the same, in the section Settings of the page in question, click on the button Edit placed next to the name of the person you are interested in, select the item Administrator from the drop-down menu on the right and click on the button Save to apply the changes.
