You are a proud owner of a smartphone Huawei and use it assiduously, taking advantage of all its features. Part of the time you spend using it you spend on sending messages to your friends, filling out e-mails or writing personal documents or for your work. Unfortunately, however, you have run into a problem that in some cases turns out to be really annoying: when you go to the end or immediately after inserting the “period”, the letters are automatically converted from lowercase to uppercase.
Generally speaking, this is not a defect of the virtual keyboard software, as it is correct that, when starting a new sentence, it should always be written with a capital letter. In some cases, however, the “period” can only be one of the characters of an email address or a Web domain, so this automatism can be annoying. If this is the case, you must know that, in the next chapters, you will find all the answers you are looking for to know how to remove automatic capitalization on huawei.
Not only will I tell you about the default keyboard of this brand’s smartphones, but also about the one developed by Google, in case you use it instead of the default one. Having said that, if you are ready to start, I would say not to waste any more precious time and to sit down comfortably: all you have to do is carefully read all the procedures that I will show you in this guide of mine. At this point, I just have to wish you a good read!
How to remove automatic capitalization from the Huawei keyboard
If you own a Huawei smartphone and you want remove the automatic capitalization from the keyboard, know that this operation can be done easily, without having to change the default keyboard of the device and without having to perform laborious procedures that can waste you too much time.
First, before we see how to disable auto-capitalization, it’s important that you make sure you have Huawei’s default keyboard enabled, named SwiftKey. Otherwise, the procedures that I will describe to you in the next paragraphs cannot be applied.
To perform this simple operation, what you need to do is to reach the Android settings. Don’t know how to do it? All you need to do is tap on the app Settings, whose icon (in the shape of a gear) is located on the home screen, and select the items System> Language and input> Default keyboard from the screen that opens. If you use the keyboard SwiftKey, I should see the latter among the selected options.
Now that you are sure you are using the SwiftKey keyboard on your Huawei smartphone, it’s time to see how to disable automatic uppercase character entry. First, access the configuration panel of this keyboard: to do this, tap on the icon SwiftKey on the home screen or start the app Settings and tap on the items System> Language and input> SwiftKey keyboard.
What you need to do now is select the item Typing and, in the new screen, locate the option Auto Uppercase Initial. To disable this feature, all you have to do is toggle up OFF the lever that you find right next to this last wording.
Now, if you have carefully followed the procedures I described in the previous paragraphs, every time you type the period, the letter that follows will no longer be automatically capitalized. Therefore, you will have to manually make the letters uppercase, by pressing the key first Up Arrow keyboard.
In any case, before exiting the SwiftKey configuration screen, you can test the new settings you have changed, using thekeyboard icon found in the lower right corner of the screen.
I warn you that, in case you want to go back to automatic capitalization again, what you will have to do is follow the same instructions that I have given you in the previous paragraphs, except that you will have to move to ON the lever next to the wording Auto Uppercase Initial.
How to remove auto-capitalization from the Google keyboard on Huawei
If Huawei’s default keyboard does not meet your needs and you are using the one developed by Google instead (Gboard), you can disable automatic capitalization in an equally easy way.
Before explaining how to do this, however, it is important that you make sure you have Gboard as the default keyboard of your Huawei smartphone. To do this, first launch the app Settings (the gear icon on the home screen), reach the path System> Language and input> Default keyboard and make sure your voice is on Gboard.
After verifying that the virtual keyboard of your Huawei device is actually the one developed by Google, go back to the previous screen and tap on the item Gboard, in order to access the configuration panel of this keyboard. Alternatively, you can tap on the app icon Gboard that you find on the home screen.
In the screen that is shown to you, tap on the item Text Correction and scroll through the different options you see, until you find the one named Auto Uppercase. Now you just have to move the lever next to this last wording on OFF, to disable automatic capitalization as you type.
In case you want to return to the previous state of the keyboard, with the automatic insertion of capital letters, all you have to do is follow the same procedure that I indicated in the previous paragraphs, making sure however that the lever next to the item Auto Uppercase is set to ON.
