Now you have two possible ways to follow: if you want to use the built-in feature in Edge to create a quick link to a site (in this case Gmail) on the taskbar, click on the icon (…) located at the top right and, in the box that is shown to you, select the items More Tools> Pin to Taskbar. In the section at the top, type the name to assign to the icon (for example Gmail) and press the button addto complete the operation.
Alternatively, you can create a Gmail login icon directly on the desktop by proceeding as follows: click onpadlock icon located on the left in the address bar, hold down and drag the mouse pointer on the desktop, then release the pressure.
By doing so, a quick launch icon will be generated on the desktop, which will allow you to quickly access your Gmail inbox. Convenient, right?
If you use Mozilla Firefox as a browser for browsing the Internet, I’m sorry to tell you that, unlike the other software we have examined so far, you cannot count on a feature that allows you to create quick launch icons for web pages.
However, you can still create a Gmail icon on your desktop by dragging the site’s URL out of the browser’s address bar to place it on your desktop.
Therefore, after starting Firefoxlinked to Gmail through the latter, click and hold down the left mouse button on thepadlock icon present in the address bar and drag the mouse pointer on the desktop, then release the pressure.
For one reason or another, you still use the old browser Internet Explorer Microsoft and, therefore, would you like to know how to put the Gmail icon on the desktop through the latter? No problem.
First, connect to your up box Gmail from the browser in question, then press the key Alt on the keyboard to display the menu bar at the top and select items File> Send from the latter.

If you don’t succeed in this operation, you can also click on the small one gmail icon present on the left, in the address bar, and drag it to the macOS desktop.

How to put the Gmail icon on the Home screen
You want to put the Gmail icon on the home screen of your smartphone or tablet? In this case, in the next chapters I will explain how to perform this operation is su Android than on iOS / iPadOS.

If you want to put the Gmail Webmail service icon on the home screen, first, launch the app Chrome and connect to your box on Gmail with the latter.
At this point, press the ⋮ icon located at the top right and press the item Add to Home Screen, in the box that is shown to you. Now, in the screen in the center of the screen, type the name you want to give to the icon (or leave the one already present) and press the button addto complete the operation.
I remind you that, in addition to viewing the Google Webmail from the browser, you can also install the appropriate app Gmail, which should already be pre-installed on the device, which allows you to manage the e-mail of this Google email service and, of course, adds an icon to the mailbox on the Home screen (and / or in the app drawer). iOS / iPadOS
If you use a iPhone or a iPad and you want to put the quick access icon to the Gmail Webmail, you can use the appropriate functionality integrated in Safari. To do this, start Safari and use it to access your inbox Gmail.
Once this is done, press the share button located at the bottom (the square with the arrow inside) and, in the new box that is shown to you, scroll through the different items, until you locate and press the one called Add to Home Screen.
Well: we’re almost there! In the section to which you are directed, enter a name to assign to the icon or leave the one already indicated and then confirm the whole operation by pressing the key add, which you find at the top.
