Other tips for protecting privacy on Facebook

Facebook app logo

We conclude this tutorial with a number of other tips for protecting privacy on Facebook , which could be very useful to you.

  • Do not post photos indiscriminately  – before posting a photo, carefully consider what information can be gleaned from it. For example, if from the photo it is possible to deduce where you live, where you work and so on, perhaps it would be better to avoid posting it. Or, what if other people are portrayed in the photo besides you? Well, before making it public it would be your duty to ask each of the interested parties who are portrayed in it for permission to post it on your profile.
  • Do not make your habits public – when publishing posts, photos and videos on your Facebook profile, be careful not to make some of your personal habits public: this kind of information, in fact, could be used by some attacker to know when you are at home, where you usually spend your holidays and so on.
  • Don’t accept friend requests from people you don’t know – this will prevent some attacker, disguised as a “friend”, from controlling your movements on Facebook.
