Print on both sides of a computer

The most likely scenario in which you may need the steps on how to print on both sides is definitely a very long text document or PDF file. Then open the text document you intend to print with the writing program you usually use (eg. Word in the case of Windows PCs e Pages in the case of Macs) or, in the case of PDFs, with the software used to view this type of documents (eg. Adobe Reader on Windows PC e Preview on Mac), click on the menu File at the top left and select the item Press… from the menu that opens.

In the window used for managing the print process that is now shown on the screen, set the option for print on both sides and click on the button Press to start duplex printing of the document.

Unfortunately, as far as Windows is concerned, I cannot be more precise as the items can be different depending on the various software and I personally am not aware of the exact program you are using. In general, if you can’t see the above setting on the first try, you should find it in the section on layout or to paper handling of the window used for printing management. For some programs, there is also the option for the manual printing on both sides which makes it easier to print odd and even pages, but always requires user intervention to turn the sheets halfway through the print process.

On macOS, you can instead enable the option in question simply by placing a check mark on the box that you find next to the item Double-sided located immediately below the drop-down menu Preset: of the print management window.

Also in this case, as regards the Windows operating systems I cannot be more precise since the items may be different depending on the various software and personally I am not aware of the exact program you are using. In general, if you can’t see the settings in question on the first try, you should find them in the section on layout or to paper handling of the window used for printing management. If you really can’t find these settings, indicates the exact number of pages odd to be printed using the appropriate selection field.

In the case of macOS, you can find the above settings by clicking on the drop-down menu attached to the print management screen, selecting the option Paper handling and then choosing the option Only odd pages from the menu that you find corresponding to the item Pages to print:.

Once the print is complete, overturn the stack of sheets that came out of the printer, reinsert it in the blank sheet compartment and start a new print from your smartphone or tablet, taking care, this time, to select, as seen above, only and exclusively the even pages.
