I assure you that within a few minutes you will be enjoying your favorite game. There is nothing left for me to do but wish you good reading and, above all, have fun!

Minimum requirements

Before going into the details of the procedure on how to play ps4 on android, I believe it is of fundamental importance to explain to you what you need to achieve your goal. I remind you that to play PlayStation 4 titles on your smartphone or tablet you need to stream content from the console to the mobile device.

For this reason, you have to have a good one Internet connection. For best performance, Sony recommends a broadband connection with both download and upload speeds of at least 15 Mbps. The minimum requirement is, instead, of 5 Mbps. To verify that you have this requirement, I recommend that you consult my guide on how to check connection speed.

In addition to this, the ability to play PlayStation 4 titles on Android is limited exclusively to the smartphones and tablets of the Sony Xperia range. In particular, among the compatible models are Xperia XZ3, Xperia XZ2 Premium, Xperia XZ2, Xperia XZ2 Compact, Xperia XZ1, Xperia XZ1 Compact and Xperia XZ Premium. There are also unofficial versions of the Remote Play app that work on different devices, but I don’t recommend them as they may not work well and, more seriously, include malware.

For some of these devices, there is also a Game Control Mount sold separately which allows you to place your smartphone on top of the controller and play more comfortably. For the rest, you clearly need a PS4 connected to the internet (the smartphone can also be connected to another network). To verify that your PS4 is connected to the Internet, I invite you to take a look at my tutorial on how to access PlayStation Network, while for more information I recommend that you consult the Sony’s official guidelines.

Preliminary operations

Once you’ve made sure you meet the minimum requirements I described in the previous chapterI would say that you are ready to configure your PlayStation 4 properly, in order to enable it for Remote Play.

To do this, turn on the PS4, go to the toolbar top and select the icon Settings. After that, press the key X on the controller above the item Remote Play connection settings and check the box Enable remote play.

At this point, go back to the home page of Settings PS4 and select the item Energy saving settings. Once this is done, press the button X of the controller on the voice Sets the functions available in sleep mode and tick the boxes Stay connected to the internet And Enable power on of PS4 from network. This way, you will be able to use Remote Play even when the console is in standby.

How to play PS4 on Android in Remote Play

To play PlayStation 4 titles on your Android smartphone or tablet, you need to take advantage of the appropriate official application PS4 Remote Playdeveloped directly by Sony.

To download and install the latter, go to the Play Storesearch for “ps4 remote play”And press the app icon (a white controller on a blue background). After that, tap on the item Install and wait for your device to complete the operation.

Once the application is launched, you have to choose if you want to use the controller Dualshock 4 or if you want to do without it. In the first case, turn on the Bluetooth on your mobile device (from the drop-down menu that comes out from the top or from the Android Settings) and tap on the item Register. Instructions for pairing your controller will now appear on the screen. Generally speaking, you just have to hold the button down PlayStation controller until the top light blinks.

To proceed, then tap on the item Forward and wait for the software to finish scanning the network. The app should find the console by itself and pair it with your smartphone within minutes. In case you are unable to do this, tap on the item Record manually present at the bottom right.

Then go back to the PlayStation 4, go to the toolbar top and press the button X controller above the icon Settings. At this point, select the item Setting the Remote Play connection and then Add device. You will be given a code for pairing the console with Android. Now go back to your smartphone or tablet, type the aforementioned code and tap on the item Register.

Perfect: your mobile device is now correctly paired with the console. If you have configured the controller, you can use the latter to remotely manage the console, otherwise the appropriate screens will appear on the screen virtual keys to control the PlayStation 4 via touch screen.
