What to do before permanently unsubscribing from Facebook

As I have already mentioned to you, before explaining how to proceed to permanently unsubscribe from Facebook, I want to show you some operations that I think it is the case that you should carry out to avoid losing precious data during the process of deleting the profile and to do so that everything shared by you on the social network can no longer be found by third parties at a later time. Therefore, carry out the steps I am about to show you to find out how to make a backup of your data on the social network and to find out how to remove personal informations, photo And video from the same.

Back up your data

As for the backup, first of all know that it can be very useful for you to always be able to access information, photos, posts and anything else you have chosen to make available on the network up to this moment.

To back up your data from Facebook, open the web browser you usually use to surf the net and connect to the social network by typing in the address bar and then pressing the button Enter on the keyboard to connect to the main Facebook page. Then fill in the appropriate forms located at the top right by typing theemail address or the telephone number with which you have chosen to register on the social network and the relative password, then click on the button Log in.

At this point, click on the icon depicting a (▾), which is located in the upper right part and then first presses on the item Settings and privacy and then on the voice Settings attached to the menu that is shown to you. Then, select the item Your information on Facebook from the left sidebar and click on the link View related to the option Download your information.

Then select the data you want to include in the Facebook backup (eg. Post, Photo and video, etc.) and use the drop-down menus located at the top to choose thedate range to take into consideration (you can download all your data or only those referring to a certain period of time), the format of files to download the backup (HTML or JSON, the first is the one I recommend as it allows easier consultation of the information) and the quality of multimedia content to be included in the archive. Once you have made your choices, click on the button Create file and wait for the backup preparation to finish.

When the archive containing the backup copy of your data on Facebook is ready you will receive the link to carry out the download directly by e-mail to the address you used to access the social network. Of course, depending on the amount of data to be backed up, this could take more than a day.

If you are interested in this, I would like to point out the possibility of requesting your backup also through theFacebook app for smartphones and tablets Android/iOS / iPadOS: just open it and, once logged in, you have to go to the menu (≡)> Settings and privacy> Settings> Download your information. Then you have to follow the same steps that I have already shown you in the previous lines.
