How to mix MP3: Mix music it’s an art, you have to have the talent to do it. You think you have that talent but you do not yet have the necessary equipment to test your skills as a DJ. What do you say, then, if I suggest a way to practice at home without spending a euro, using only the PC?
You guessed it, I mean Audacity, probably the best free program for working with audio which, among its many functions, also includes those for mixing music in digital format by combining two or more music tracks. How? Follow my guide on how to mix MP3 and you will find out.
If you want to find out how to mix MP3the first step you need to take is to connect to the Audacity website and click on the item Audacity 1.3.14 installer to download the program to your PC. When the download is complete, double-click on it to open the file you just downloaded (audacity-win-unicode-1.3.14.exe) and, in the window that opens, first click on Run And Yup (to authorize installation on Windows 7 and Vista) and then on OK, Forward four consecutive times, Install, Forward And end. This way, you’ve finished installing Audacity, but in order to work with MP3s and save your mixes in this format you need a little free add-on called LAME MP3.
You are now ready to start mix MP3. Then start Audacity through its icon on the desktop or in the Windows Start menu and import the tracks in mp3 format that you want to mix into it. To do this, you need to import the first track into the program using your voice You open of the menu File and then load the other tracks one by one using the menu File> Import> Audio.
This way, you will see it appear on the main screen of Audacity as many graphs as there will be songs imported into the program. And it is precisely on these graphs (each of which occupies two lines, one relating to the left channel and one relating to the right channel of the audio) that you have to work to make your mix by matching the tracks.
Granted that you can listen to all the tracks at the same time using the button Play located at the top left, to mix your MP3 tracks effectively, all you have to do is give vent to your imagination and try to make the most of all the tools made available to you by Audacity.
For example, to adjust the volume and theorientation of the individual tracks (if you have to listen more to the right or to the left) you have to act on the adjustment bars located to the left of each graph, while to apply special effects to them you have to go to the menu Effects Audacity and select from there the effects you want to apply to the individual tracks after selecting them with the mouse in the graph.
Among the most effective effects available in Audacity are those for amplify, change the weather and add theecho to the songs, without forgetting those for to reverse the traces, normalize volume and remove vocals from songs (vocal remover). To apply the filters, you have to adjust their properties in the windows that open and click on the button OK.
You can also move tracks forwards or backwards by selecting the tool time shift from the toolbar at the top left (the icon with the black arrow that goes to the right and left) and dragging the graphs with the mouse.
When you are satisfied with the result, you can save your mixed tracks by selecting the voice Export from the menu File by Audacity. In the window that opens, indicate the folder where you want to save the song, select the item MP3 from the drop-down menu Save as and click on the button Save to complete the operation.
