How to mix 2 songs: You are a music lover. Would you like to have some fun, trying to mix two songs together, but don’t feel like installing complicated ultra-professional software on your PC? No problem. Just turn to solutions like MJ Studio and Audacity.
MJ Studio is a small free program for Windows that allows you to mix MP3 and WAV songs “on the fly” with graphics similar to that of a DJ console, Audacity, on the other hand, is a much more complete audio editor available for all major operating systems that allows you to work in depth on the mixes. Let’s see immediately how to mix 2 songs using them.
If you have no special needs and then you want to find out how to mix 2 songs with MJ Studiothe first step you need to take is to connect to the website of the program and download it to your PC by clicking on the button Download MJ Studio Now!. When the download is complete, double-click on it to open the file you just downloaded (Setup MJ Studio 1.09.exe) and, in the window that opens, first click on Install and then on Close to finish the MJ Studio installation process.
To mix two songs with MJ Studio, all you have to do is click on the icons with the arrows placed under each of the two virtual “cymbals” and select the two MP3 or WAV songs to mix. Then use the buttons for multimedia control of the songs (play, forward, back, etc.) and the equalizer bars to play and mix everything.
To start recording your mix in real time, simply click on the button Record. At the end of the registration, click on the same button, then on Save as and select the folder in which to save the mixed song (in WAV format). If after trying MJ Studio you find it too essential for your needs, you can try mix 2 songs with the excellent open source editor Audacity. Then connect to the program’s website and click on the item Download Audacity 2.0.3 to download it to your PC. When the download is complete, double-click on it to open the file you just downloaded (eg. audacity-win-2.0.3.exe) and, in the window that opens, first click on Run and then on Yup, OK, Forward four consecutive times, Install, Forward And end to end the installation process and start Audacity.
At this point, go to the menu File> Open of the program and select the first track to mix, then go to File> Import> Audio and select the second. This way, you’ll have both tracks ready to be mixed. To mix them well you have to move the graphs of the tracks so that they match each other (using the mouse), adjust their volume and direction with the appropriate indicators positioned on the sides, apply effects special features (such as volume normalization, fade-in, fade-out, etc.) and then save the final result as a WAV song. If you want to save to MP3, you need the free add-in plug-in MP3 LAME.
