Resources for creating a PC on Minecraft

If you want to build a computer on Minecraft , the first thing you need to do is gather all the resources that can be useful for the realization of this project.

What I will introduce you in the next chapter is one of the methods you can use to create an object that can resemble a computer, but during this guide you will also find other ideas in this regard.

First, you will need to create a white banner  using 1 stick unit and 6 white wool units , to be placed on a workbench. You can get wool by shearing the sheep you find in the world of Minecraft. If you want to know more about this topic, you can read the advice that I have given you in my guide .

In addition to this, you will need dye to dye the banner, precisely the black and the white one : you can get black by working the ink bag in a workbench, obtainable by defeating the squid that swim in the water. As for white , however, you can get it from the processing of bones  (a resource that can be found by defeating skeletons) in a workbench.

To add the dye to the banner, you will need a Frame . This object is similar to a workbench, but its only purpose is to apply colors and textures on the banners. You can make one using, in a workbench, 2 units of wooden boards and 2 units of string .

Finally, you will need to build an iron hatch, creating it from 4 units of iron ingots inside a workbench. If you have all the resources I have indicated to you in the previous lines, you can then continue with the reading of the next chapter, in which I will explain the procedures you will have to carry out to build a computer.

How to build a computer on Minecraft

Building a PC on Minecraft

The first step to building a computer on Minecraft is to find an area of your  refuge with a clear wall. You will need an area of size 3 × 2 for this project.

First, you need to build a 3 × 2 size desk , using the Fences and Rugs . In this regard, I advise you to consult my guide on how to make a table on Minecraft , in which I explained in detail how to make different types of tables, including what I suggested to you in the previous lines.

PC desk on Minecraft

When you make the desk next to the wall, take care to leave an empty space in the center, which you will need for the construction of the computer. The first thing to do, however, is to apply the color to the banner. So interact on the frame and, in the screen that is shown to you, add the banner in the appropriate slot and, on the one alongside, the black dye .

You will be shown different textures that you can apply to the banner. Choose the one that allows you to dye the top of the banner black , leaving everything else white .

Black coloring on the banner

Now, you will have to dye the banner again, applying a white frame. Interacting again on the Frame , place the previously obtained banner in the appropriate slot, while adding the White Dye in the slot alongside. You will have to select the texture that applies the frame , selecting it from those that are shown in the list.

Coloring of the frame on the banner

Well: if you followed the instructions I gave you to the letter, you are almost at the end of the realization of this project. Then equip the banner and apply it on the wall, so that it is in the empty space that you previously left in the desk.

Positioning the PC monitor

You just have to place the iron hatch to close this empty space on the desk, in order to simulate a keyboard. Well done! You have just built an object that appears to be a computer, albeit not functional.

However, if you want to build one that looks more like a real computer and that, perhaps, can also work, I refer you to reading the tips in the next chapter of the guide .

How to build a working computer on Minecraft

Computer running on Minecraft

If your intent is to build a working computer on Minecraft , I can recommend the use of a mod  that allows you to add elements to decorate and furnish the shelter. The add-on I’m talking about is called MrCrayfish’s Furniture Mod but, to use it, you need to install Minecraft Forge first .

The latter is a tool that aims to manage the mods on Minecraft and it is therefore necessary that you proceed with its installation first. To do this, go to the Minecraft Forge website and press the Installer button to download the related  .jar file .

After doing this, double click on the file you just downloaded and, in the screen that is shown to you, click on the OK button , in order to install Minecraft Forge .

At the end of this procedure, it’s time to continue by downloading MrCrayfish’s Furniture Mod from the website : reach the link I just provided and press the Download button , to download the mod .jar file  .

After that, move the file you just downloaded to the mods folder , which you can find by reaching the path C: Users [name] AppDataRoaming.minecraft , through File Explorer . In case you do not find the folder I just mentioned, you can create it manually by following the advice I have given you in this guide .

At this point, start Minecraft and press the icon , available next to the Play button . Once this is done, select the Forge profile in the box you see and then click on the Play button . By doing so, you will have started Minecraft with mod support, thanks to Minecraft Forge .

By accessing a world in Creative mode and opening the inventory of your avatar, you can reach the tab relating to the mod you have just installed. You will thus find a list with all the decorative elements that you can add to your shelter, including a functioning computer , which will allow you, after interacting on it, to access a screen for the online purchase of useful items for your adventures.

Alternatively, you can build it in a workbench, using 7 units of Iron Blocks , 1 unit of Glass Panel and 1 unit of Redstone . Easy, isn’t it?
