How to forward emails from Outlook: You just opened a new account on Outlook, Microsoft’s Webmail service, and would you like to know how to forward a message from it? Have you decided to use your new Outlook account as a secondary email address, would you like to make sure that all the emails received on it are “turned over” to your primary mailbox but you don’t know how to do it? Well, there is no problem: in this guide of mine I will illustrate, in detail, how to forward emails from outlook.

First, I’ll tell you how to manually forward individual messages received on Outlook.com. Then I’ll explain how to do the same thing in Microsoft Outlook, the famous email software available for Windows and macOS, and in the Outlook app for Android and iOS. Finally, if you want to automatically forward all the messages you receive on your Outlook.com mailbox to another mailbox, I will explain how to do this.

In short, keep reading and you will find everything you need to be able to reach your goal without any hitch. What you have to do is simply give me a few minutes of your free time and put into practice the procedures that I will describe to you in the next chapters. How to forward emails in Outlook

If you received an email in Outlook and you want to forward it to another mailbox, you can do it easily by following the procedures indicated in the next chapters of the guide.

Outlook.com

To forward an e-mail message from Outlook.comconnected first to the website of the service and log in using your credentials. Once this is done, on the main Outlook screen, locate the message to forward and right click on it. If there are multiple messages in a conversation, locate the one to forward in the right area.

Now, in the context menu you see, click on the item Forward. Alternatively, click on the icon (…) that you find next to the message and choose the item Forward from the box that is shown to you.

Once this is done, you can fill in all the data necessary to forward the message. All you have to do is indicate the recipient’s address in the field TO and, if you want, modify the field Object and add text in the body of the message.

When you have completed this operation, press the key Sendlocated at the top, to confirm the forwarding of the email to the recipient indicated by you.

Microsoft Outlook (Windows / macOS)

If you use Microsoft Outlook for Windows or macOSyou can easily forward a message received or sent, using the appropriate function provided in the program.

To be precise, what you have to do is locate, in the main Outlook window, the message you want to forward (you can help you locate it through the folders in the left sidebar). At this point, right-click on the message and, in the context menu you see, press the item Forward. Alternatively, after selecting the message, press the key Forward that you find in the card Home of the bar at the top.

Once this is done, fill in the field TO with the recipient’s email address and, if you deem it appropriate, also modify the fields Object and add details to the body of the message. When you are done, all you have to do is press the button Sendlocated at the top, to forward the message to the recipient indicated by you.

Outlook App (Android / iOS)

If you want to manually forward an email in the Outlookfor Android or iOStap on conversation containing the message you want to forward, in order to open it.

At this point, locate the message to forward and press the icon (…) located next to it. In the box that is shown to you, then select the item Forwardto compose the message.

In the field TO, type the email address to which you want to forward the message. You can leave the other fields as they are, but if you want to add more details, you can edit the field Object or add text in the message body field.

When you have completed filling out the email, click onairplane icon, top right, to forward the message to the recipient. Easy, right?

How to automatically forward emails from Outlook

If you want to set theautomatic forwarding of all Outlook mail or one that meets the specific requirements indicated by you, you can easily carry out this operation through the Outlook.com web interface or through the desktop client for Windows and macOS. However, it is not possible to act through the Outlook app for Android or iOS. Here is all explained in detail.

Automatic forwarding to Outlook

Through the Outlook.com web platform, you can set a filter that automatically adjusts the forwarding of messages to an address indicated by you. To carry out this operation, you can act through two tools, which I will talk about in the next lines.

If you want to forward all the mail you receive to another email, what you have to do is click ongear iconwhich you find in the upper right corner, on the main screen of Outlook.com. Once this is done, in the box that is shown to you, select the item View all Outlook settingsto open a new panel.

In the sidebar, select the items now Mail> Forwarding and, in case you are asked, enter the password associated with your Outlook account. Now, in the panel that is shown to you, activate the box Enable forwarding and type theemail address to which to forward all the mail you receive, via the text box Forward the email to.

If you want to keep a copy of forwarded messages on Outlook.com, check the box as well Keep a copy of forwarded messages. Now you just have to press the button Saveat the top right, to confirm the activation of this rule, which will forward all the e-mails you receive in Outlook to an e-mail address indicated by you.

As an alternative to the solution I proposed in the previous lines, you can activate a filter for forwarding emails that meet certain requirements, using the tool Rules Outlook. Then press ongear icon located at the top right and choose the item View all Outlook settings from the box that opens.

Now, in the panel you see, select the items Mail> Rules and press the button Add new rule. At this point, in the field 1indicates a first name to assign to the rule, while in the field 2 you must indicate the condition for forwarding to take place: for example, you can choose whether to forward all messages (Apply to all messages) or those coming from specific contacts (From), by entering the sender’s email address in the box alongside.

Arrived at this point, in the field 3select the item Forward to and indicate, in the box alongside, the email address of the recipient who will receive the messages. Then you just have to press the button Saveat the top to confirm the creation of the rule.

From this moment on, all messages that meet the rule you configured will be automatically sent to the email address you indicated.

Microsoft Outlook (Windows / macOS)

If you want to set up an automatic mail forwarding rule on Microsoft Outlook for Windows or macOS, you can act through the procedures that I will describe in the next paragraphs. However, keep in mind that the application of the rule is valid only if the software remains open and, of course, the PC is turned on.

If you use Microsoft Outlook on Windowsafter starting it, go to the menu File> Manage Rules and Alerts (top left). In the panel that is shown to you, then click on the button New ruleto start creating a new filter.

From the items that are proposed to you, then select Apply rule to received messages and press the button Forward. Then, if you want to set a condition on incoming messages, choose one of the many on-screen options that suit your needs. Otherwise, if you want to forward all mail, just press the button Forwardwithout selecting anything, then confirming the operation using the key OK.

At this point, choose the option Forward the message to users or public group and click on the wording Users or public group, which you find below. Then type your email address in the field TO or select a contact from the address book, and press the key OK, to confirm. Then press the button Forward twice consecutively and confirms the creation of the rule, using the key end.

On Macinstead, start Microsoft Outlook and press on the items Tools> Rules, in the top menu bar. In the panel that is shown to you, select theOutlook account and press the icon +, which you find below. Once this is done, you will be presented with some fields to fill in: in the field Fromindicate the sender you want their messages to be forwarded to, otherwise click on the sender and choose the option All messagesto forward all the emails you will receive.

In the field Take the following actionchoose the option Forward to, using the appropriate drop-down menu, and type the recipient’s email address, using the relevant text box. Finally, press the key OKto confirm the creation of the rule.
