When the download is complete, double-click on it to open the file you just downloaded (eg. audacity-win-2.0.3.exe) and, in the window that opens, first click on Run and then on Yup And OK. Now, click on first Forward for four consecutive times and then on Install, Forward And end to complete the Audacity installation and proceed to installing the plugin MP3 LAMEwhich you will need to enable the saving of files in MP3 format in the program.

Then connect to the MP3 LAME website and click on the item Lame_v3.99.3_for_Windows.exe to download the plug-in to your PC. When the download is complete, double-click on it to open the file you just downloaded (Lame_v3.99.3_for_Windows.exe) and, in the window that opens, first click on Run and then on Yup And Next three consecutive times, Install And Finish to complete the installation of LAME MP3.

Now, start Audacity through its shortcut on the desktop or in the Windows Start menu and, in the window that opens, click on OK to access the main program screen. Then select the item You open from the menu File and open the song you want to equalize to make it more listenable.

At this point, all you have to do is go to the menu Effects> Equalization to open the equalizer and, in the window that opens, put the check mark next to the item Graphic EQ to display the graphic equalizer (much easier to use than the line equalizer set by default). Then move the various indicators relating to the frequencies of the song, with the help of the button Preview to hear the effect of the equalization on the song, and when you are satisfied with the result, click on OK to equalize the whole song.

It’s done! After managing to equalize a songyou just have to save it as an mp3 file by selecting the item Export of the menu File by Audacity. In the window that opens, choose the folder in which to save the equalized song, type the name you want to assign to the file in the field File nameselect the item MP3 files from the drop-down menu Save as and first click on Save and then on OK to complete the operation.
