How to duplicate Wii games: You are afraid that your precious Wii games over time they can get damaged and so you tried to create backup copies, but to your bitter surprise you discovered that your computer’s burner cannot read them. Really a nuisance, no doubt about it, but I have some good news for you.
Although most DVD burners cannot read original Wii games (LG-8164 would be needed), it is possible to create game backups on hard drives or USB sticks using a simple free program for the Nintendo console. Do not you believe it? Then follow this guide on how to duplicate wii games and get ready to change your mind!
Before seeing in detail how to duplicate wii gamesyou must know that to perform this operation (and make backup copies of games) you need to modify your console by installing theHomebrew Channel. But don’t worry, you don’t need to open the Wii or spend money to do it. All you have to do is copy some software onto an SD memory card and follow the directions I gave you step by step in my guide on how to modify the Wii.
Having completed this fundamental step, you must copy the program to duplicate and play the Wii games on the memory card on which you previously copied the Homebrew Channel. Then connect to the WiiFlow website and first click on r92a-WiiFlow_249.zip and then on OK to download the program to your PC.
When the download is complete, double-click on it to open the archive you just downloaded (r92a-WiiFlow_249.zip) and copy the contents of the folder apps present in the latter in the folder apps memory card. Then copy the folder wiiflow in the root directory of the SD card and go to the next step.
Now, you need to format a USB stick or external hard drive with the Wii file system so that you can copy games to them. Generally the games on the Nintendo console don’t take up much space but, since on a single device you can save more than one, I recommend using units with at least 4GB of capacity. To carry out this task, you can use the free program WBFS Manager.
So connect to the WBFS Manager website and click on the purple button download to download the program to your PC. If you are using a 64-bit version of Windows, you must first download the software by clicking on DOWNLOADS (top) and then up WBFSManager 3.0 RTW x64. When the download is complete, double-click on it to open the archive you have just downloaded (eg. WBFSManager3.0.1-RTW-x86.zip) and start the program setup.exe to start the WBFS Manager installation process.
In the window that opens, first click on Yup and then on Next. Then accept the license to use the program, putting the check mark next to the item I accept the terms of the License Agreement and click on first Next three consecutive times and then on Installstill Next And Finish to complete the installation process of WBFS Manager.
At this point, start the program from the menu Start Windows and click on the button OK twice consecutively to access its main screen. Select the hard disk or USB stick drive to format from the drop-down menu Peripheral and first click on Format and then on Yup to start formatting. By following this procedure, all the original contents of the device will be erased and you will be able to use the device only for Wii games (unless a new format via Windows).
Here we are! Now you can finally find out in detail how to duplicate wii games. Connect the SD memory card you copied to WiiFlow and the USB stick (or external hard drive) you formatted with WBFS Manager to the console and turn it on, insert the disk of the game to be duplicated in the Wii and access theHomebrew Channel.
Now, select the button WiiFlow and click on the button Load to start the application. Then move the wiimote cursor to the bottom left and click on the icon gears to access the WiiFlow settings. In the screen that opens, click on forward arrow located at the bottom left and select the item first Install then Proceed to start the copy of the game inserted in the Wii on the USB stick or hard disk connected to the console. The procedure will take a few minutes.
At the end of the process, click on the button Backards for two consecutive times and you should find the game you just copied on the USB stick or hard disk in the list of titles available in WiiFlow. To play, select the game cover and click on the button Plays. Have fun!
