How to delete unwanted messages from Chrome
To block unwanted messages from the Google Chrome browser (and therefore from websites), proceed as follows: if you use the Chrome app for Android , start the browser, tap the icon (⋮) located at the top right and select the Settings item from the menu that appears on the screen.
In the screen you now see, tap the Notifications item , locate the Sites box and, to completely block the display of notifications by all websites, move the lever corresponding to the item Show notifications to OFF ; if, on the other hand, you prefer to disable notifications from only certain websites, remove the check mark from the boxes next to the respective names.
The procedure to be performed on Google Chrome for computer is quite similar to the one seen above: after starting the browser, click on the button (⋮) at the top right, then on the Settings item located in the menu that appears on the screen and, subsequently, on the Advanced item , located at the bottom of the page that opens.
Now, click on the Site Settings section corresponding to the Privacy and security box, reach the Notifications and Allow sections and, after identifying the site from which you receive the unwelcome notifications, click on the button (⋮) located next to its name and choose the Block item from the displayed menu.
To completely inhibit requests for sending notifications from websites, move the lever corresponding to the Ask before sending item to OFF : however, keep in mind that the change has no effect on permitted sites. How to delete unwanted messages on Android
Do you receive unwanted notification messages from various apps on Android ? In this case, you can easily deactivate them through a specific system functionality.
To start, then enter the Android Settings , touching the gear icon located on the home screen or in the drawer of the device, reach the Apps and notifications section , touch the wording Show all apps and locate the application that sends you notifications unwanted items in the list that appears.
Now, tap on its name , then on the item Notifications and, to completely disable the reception of the same, move the lever corresponding to the wording Show notifications to OFF ; to hide only some categories of messages, instead remove the check mark from the boxes next to the types that annoy you the most.
How to delete unwanted messages on iOS / iPadOS
Disabling the reception of unwanted notifications on iPhone and iPad is even simpler: open the operating system Settings , touching the gear wheel symbol that resides in the home, tap the Notifications item and locate the app in the proposed list that bothers you . When you have found it, tap on its name and move the lever corresponding to the item Allow notifications to OFF . That’s all!
Alternatively, you can choose whether to display only certain types of notifications, using the boxes next to the Lock screen , Notification center and Banner items .
How to delete unwanted messages on your PC
To eliminate unwanted messages on your PC from some installed programs, all you have to do is disable their notifications from the settings of the operating system you are using.
So, if you use a computer with Windows 10 , open the Start menu by clicking on the flag -shaped icon located in the lower left corner of the screen, open the Settings by clicking on the gear symbol located inside it, click on the icon on the System and then on the tab dedicated to Notifications and actions , located on the left.
Finally, go to the Get notifications from these senders section , locate the program from which you no longer want to receive notification messages and move the lever next to its name to Disabled . To delete the notification messages already present, click on the cartoon symbol placed next to the clock and then on the item Cancel notifications , located in the panel that appears on the screen.
If, on the other hand, yours is a Mac , open System Preferences by clicking on the gear wheel that resides in the Dock bar , locate the program of your interest in the left sidebar and, to disable notifications, move to OFF the lever corresponding to the wording Allow notifications from [program name] .

If your problem concerns SMS and, more precisely, all those unwanted messages that you receive from mostly unwelcome senders, you can deal with the problem using the tools made available by Android and iPhone. Find everything explained below.
How to delete unwanted SMS on Android
To delete unwanted SMS on Android and prevent the receipt of other communications from the same sender, you can block the latter using the functions of the app dedicated to Messages on your device (eg. Google Messages ).
To do this, start the latter, by tapping on its icon (generally depicting a comic ) located on the home screen or in the application drawer, identify the conversation coming from the unwelcome sender (the one containing unwanted SMS, so to speak) and make a tap prolonged on the same.
Now, to delete all messages without blocking the sender, tap the trash can icon that appears at the top and confirm your willingness to proceed by touching the Delete item ; if, on the other hand, you want to prevent the sender from receiving future SMS, touch the prohibition symbol and confirm the next warning by selecting the OK item .
To ensure that the sender is reported to Google (and the operator) as a potential spammer, put the check mark next to Report spam , before clicking OK . Please note that blocking a number through the Messages app also blocks phone calls from it.
To block the receipt of advertising messages on Android in advance, you can also use the SMS filter included in the Google Messages app : to proceed, start the latter, touch the button (⋮) located at the top and select the Settings item from the menu that goes to open. How to delete unwanted SMS on iPhone
If, on the other hand, yours is an iPhone , you can delete unwanted messages (and block their senders) in the following way: to start, open the iOS Messages app, locate the conversation of your interest and, if you want to delete it without blocking the sender, swipe left on it and press the Delete button twice in a row.
If you want to block the sender of the SMS, access the chat instead, by tapping on it, press on the phone number / name of the sender, located at the top, tap the (i) resident icon in the next panel and, after selecting again contact number / name , double tap the Block Contact button .
Following this operation, all messages received from the blocked user will disappear from the Messages app, you will not receive notifications about new ones and the reception of calls and FaceTime by the user in question will also be inhibited.
Unfortunately, iOS does not include any features for the native blocking of advertising SMS: to overcome the problem, even in this case, you can rely on a third-party app like VeroSMS , which I told you about in my guide on how to block SMS. without number.
How to delete unwanted email messages
Do you often receive spam emails and want to delete them from your inbox? Nothing could be simpler: all you have to do is use the appropriate functionality attached to the email app you are using, or to your supplier’s web service.
For example, if you use the Gmail app or the Outlook app for smartphones and tablets, you can easily block advertising messages in the following way: after starting the application of your interest, locate the advertising email and make a long tap on of it, in order to activate the quick actions menu.
Now, touch the button (⋮) (on Android) or (…) (on iOS / iPadOS) that appears at the top and, to move the message to the spam folder and mark the sender as a “nuisance”, tap on the item Report spam / Report spam located in the menu that appears. Following this operation, messages from the same sender will be automatically redirected to the Spam folder.
To completely block the receipt of emails by a specific person, instead, open the email message, tap on the symbol (⋮) located next to the sender’s contact name and select the Block [name] item from the menu that appears on the display. Please note that this last feature is present only in the Gmail app and not in the Outlook one.
If, on the other hand, you use Gmail or Outlook through their respective websites, after logging in to your mailbox, put the check mark next to the message of your interest and click on the symbol depicting an exclamation point surrounded by a hexagon or on the item Junk , both resident at the top, to mark it as spam.
If you want to completely block the receipt of emails by a given sender, open the email message, click on the button (⋮) resident next to the user’s name and select the item Block [sender name] from the proposed menu, if you use Gmail, or on the button (…) and, subsequently, on the menu items Security options and Block [username] , if you use Outlook.
