The app is free, but to remove the (not overly invasive) advertising, you need to purchase its full version, which costs € 1.09.

To use Resize It, start the app on your iPhone or iPad, press the photo symbol located at the bottom left and select the image you want to act on. Then tap on the Crop item , select one of the formats proposed below (e.g. 1: 1 ; 3: 2 , etc.) and, as soon as you are satisfied with the crop, press the OK item located at the top right.

Now you can resize the photo taking into account what I told you in the initial chapter  of this guide: press, then, on the Resize item located at the bottom (in the main screen of the app) and, in the box that appears on the screen, change the size of the image using the text fields located under New Image Size .

If you are satisfied with the result obtained, press the OK item always located at the top right, then press the Done item , the button depicting the arrow pointing down  and, finally, select the Save Image item from the menu that opens to save the photo modified. Easier than that ?!

Paint (Windows)

If you use a Windows PC , you can cut photos using Paint , the graphics program included on virtually all versions of Microsoft’s operating system. To use it, start Paint (you can easily find it by looking for it in the Start menu ), press the blue File button located at the top left, select the Open item from the menu that appears and select the image you want to import and crop.

If you want, you can also resize the image using the squares placed on the perimeter of the image: all you have to do is place the cursor on one of them and, when the symbol (← →) appears , drag the image inwards giving look at its dimensions shown below (next to the square symbol with the two arrows ).
