How to create CCF files: You must submit your tax return on the Revenue Agency website, where you are asked to provide the file of the tax return in CCF format . Unfortunately, however, you are not very practical with technology and do not know what it is, nor how to obtain documents in this format. So you did a Google search to understand how to create CCF files and you came here, on my guide. Am I right? Then know that you’ve come to the right place at the right time.
With today’s tutorial, in fact, I will explain exactly what CCF files are, what software you need to use to create them and how to send them to the Inland Revenue to comply with tax deadlines. I assure you that this is a much simpler operation than what you imagine, moreover free and feasible from any PC and operating system.
Having said that, let’s not go further: take five minutes of free time, concentrate on reading the information below and, above all, try to put my advice into practice, so as to create your CCF files and send them to the ADE : you’ll see, it won’t be complicated at all. What are CCF files
I begin by explaining what CCF files are : the abbreviation that defines them is an acronym for “CryptLoad Container File”, CryptLoad container files, and they were created, in fact, as CryptLoad archives : a program to manage the downloads of which it is the update was interrupted. Other newer software, such as JDownloader , use the same extension. But then, you will ask yourself, what does the Revenue Agency have to do with it ? Well, someone who works for the institution must have thought that this document format was suitable for the transmission of declarations to the Public Administration.
From now on, you can forget about CryptLoad, because you won’t have to download it to create CCF files and send them to the Revenue Agency. However, I want to tell you something more: this program has been used by well-known file hosting services, such as Megaupload and Rapidshare to optimize the download of documents available from multiple sources simultaneously. However, the Organization is interested in the encryption that guarantees the integrity of the files sent: these are “signed” with a key in the possession of the PA which thus ensures that the declarations are not tampered with.
In practice, CCF files are encrypted archives . As if you wanted to secure a compressed folder: through the software provided by the Revenue Agency, you can “sign” and encrypt the declarations, before sending. It is a mandatory step, requested by the Body for documents such as the Single Physical Person and the Simplified Model 770 to be transmitted electronically via the Web. The extension is automatically taken on at the end of the procedure, during the document authentication phase. Don’t worry though: I will show you step by step all the way.
Before knowing how to generate CCF files , it is good to know the whole procedure.
The Revenue Agency provides a series of telematic services, such as Fisconline and Entratel which, in order to function, require the creation of an account. Let’s see, therefore, what is needed to register but, before that, let’s try to understand how the Fisconline and Entratel services differ and to what type of public they are destined.
Therefore, Fisconline is dedicated to all taxpayers over the age of 16, including Italian citizens residing abroad, companies and entities, who do not have to submit the declaration of substitute tax (form 770) for more than 20 subjects. Entratel, on the other hand, is reserved for subjects obliged to transmit electronically declarations and deeds, that is, individuals, companies and entities that must submit the declaration of substitute tax (form 770) for more than 20 subjects; intermediaries (professionals, Caf and trade associations), for the electronic submission of declarations; Poste Italiane spa, for its declarations and for those presented by taxpayers at the branches; companies that transmit on behalf of the group companies to which they belong; State administrations; intermediaries and delegated subjects for the electronic registration of lease contracts.
As easily understood, if you are a common citizen and you only have to submit your declaration, you must take advantage of Fisconline (which is the service I will focus on in this guide). For more information on the differences between Fisconline and Entratel, however, you can consult the Hades website .
You should also know that there are three methods of accessing Fisconline : the first, the so-called “classic” method , involves registering on the site and receiving a PIN to access the online services of the ADE (in part instantly and partly via regular mail); the second involves access via the SPID system , while the third involves the use of a smart card , more precisely the CNS (National Service Card) which has replaced the health card and can be connected to the computer through a special reader.
To request the AdE PIN in a “traditional” way, therefore connected to this page and click on the button Register with Fisconline . Therefore, select a profile among Individuals , Individuals in possession of the National Services Card (CNS) , Italian citizens residing abroad and Companies and, more generally, all subjects other than Individuals (so-called Pnf), who present the declaration of withholding agents for a maximum number of 20 recipients , tick the box I declare that I have read the legislation (below) and press the button Request the PIN code .
On the next page, if you have identified yourself as a natural person, enter your tax code , indicate the model and the presentation channel of your latest tax return, indicate your total income in the appropriate text field and click on the Submit button , to get the first part of the PIN.
The second part of the code will be sent to you by ordinary mail to the address known by the Revenue Agency and will be delivered to you within 15 days . Once complete, you can use it to access Fisconline services.
Are you interested in Entratel ? In this case, to register for the service you must send a special form via certified email (certified e-mail) or present the same form to any office of the Inland Revenue in the region where your tax domicile is established. More info here .
How to generate CCF files
Now let’s see how to generate a CCF file and send it to the Inland Revenue. The procedure is basically divided into three steps: creation of the declaration to be sent (with the appropriate compilation software); generation of the CCF file for electronic transmission (via the Internet File application included in the AdE’s Electronic Desktop ) and sending the file to the Body (via Internet File , Fisconline or Entratel , if you are enabled to the latter). Here are all the details.
Note: all AdE software requires the presence of the Java Runtime Environment software on the computer. Therefore, if you have not already done so, install the latest version of Java on your PC following, if you want, the instructions in my tutorial on how to download Java .
Completion of the declaration
As already mentioned above, the first step you need to take is to get the compilation software for the type of communication you need to send to the AdE. I, for this example, I will refer to the tax return , but the same procedure (using different compilation software) can also be implemented for other communications, e.g. periodic VAT communications.
For tax returns, you need to download the RedditiOnLine Pf software which, like most software released by the organization, is free and compatible with Windows, macOS and Linux.
To download RedditiOnline Pf, connected to the page dedicated to the software that I linked to you a moment ago and click on the link To run the software select the link: RedditiOnLine Pf 2019 . You will thus obtain a .jnlp file , which you will have to open (with Java ) by double clicking on its icon, then consenting to its execution and waiting for all the components necessary for its operation to be downloaded to your computer.
After a short load, the program window will open. Then, follow the first start procedure, by clicking on the Next button , indicating your profile ( Person who submits the Declaration on his own account , Agent [intermediaries and group companies] or Revenue Agency Office ) and pressing the Finish button . Then click on the New button , at the top left, to start the wizard for completing the declaration.
The sections to be filled in are listed in the menu on the left and you can move between them by clicking on the Next and Back buttons , or cancel the compilation with the Cancel command . Each section provides more information on the compilation, which you can view by clicking on Details . Arrived at the last, conclude the procedure by clicking on Finish .
It is not over, because the title page will appear on the left side of the screen : with a double click on it you will open the Master Data tab , which you will have to fill in entirely in order to go on. The procedure is guided and the program will certainly notify you if any information is missing. When everything is finished, you can click on Compile and close the tab, pressing on Close .
Finally, you must go to the Income tab : at the bottom, you must access the section RN / RV / LC – Tax determination (by double-clicking on the relevant item) and fill in the necessary boxes. Since you have already entered the other necessary information, choose Close to enable the last step.
Selecting RX – Result of the declaration> Form 1 you can therefore enter the amounts of the various taxes, after which you will have to click on Confirm and Close , to save the file of your declaration.
Creation of the CCF file
Now you have your declaration, but not the CCF file valid for the transmission of communications to the AdE. To get the CCF file you have to use Telematic Desktop .
Desktop Telematico is a collection of Revenue Agency tools that allows you to prepare tax returns and other communications for sending via Fisconline (or Entratel).
Regarding the sending of declarations for non-enabled users (i.e. for users who do not have Entratel but use the simple Fisconline), you must first install Telematic Desktop , then its Internet File component and the communication control modules to be sent to the AdE (so you can check the document and convert it to a CCF file).
To download Telematic Desktop to your computer, connected to this page of the AdE website and click on the link relating to the operating system you use: if, for example, you use Windows , you have to click on the link site 1 or site 2 corresponding to the item Windows .
At the end of the download, run the obtained .exe file and, in the window that opens, click first on the Yes button and then on OK , Next , Next , Install and Executed , to close the dialog and finish the setup. In case of problems during the installation procedure of the Telematic Desktop, try to follow the suggestions contained in this PDF file produced by the AdE .
Now you just have to start Telematic Desktop . At the first start, you will be asked to connect the program to a user: therefore click on the New user button , to choose the Username and Password between 8 and 15 characters long.
It is mandatory to select a workspace : I suggest you leave everything as it is and click on Create to insert the user in the list. You can now log in by choosing the username from the list and entering the password you have just chosen. You will still have to wait a little.
On the first login, in fact, Desktop Telematic downloads a library of about 50MB from the institutional website of the Inland Revenue and the transfer of these files takes a few minutes. No, it is not your computer’s fault: it is the connection of the Body that is slow! In case of warnings , always answer in the affirmative and select the options that are proposed to you.
Remember not to confuse the login and password chosen to use Telematic Desktop on your PC from those assigned to enable Fisconline, because they are two different things. The software is made to be used by several people in the family, that’s why it asks to create a list of users. You may not need it.
Once you have access to the main screen of Telematic Desktop, authorize the software in the Windows firewall, responding Allow access to the warning that appears on the screen and install the components necessary to generate the CCF file.
Click, then, on the Applications item , then on Install software and select the software you need, namely INTERNET FILE (or ENTRATEL , if you are enabled) and the control modules relating to the communication you want to send (in my case Check tax returns and sector studies ). Then click on the Next and Finish buttons and wait for the download and installation of the selected components. You will be asked to restart the program: accept.
Now you are really ready to generate your CCF file. Select, therefore, the link relating to Internet Files in the Telematic Desktop and click on the Prepare file button at the bottom.
Select, therefore, the file you want to transform into a CCF (e.g. the RPF file of the Personal Income Tax Return), fill out the form that is proposed to you with the taxpayer’s tax code (or the declarant’s tax code ) and the PIN of the AdE website.
Finally, click on the Prepare file button and, after a few moments, an on-screen warning will tell you that the CCF file has been prepared for sending online.
The file in question is placed in the documents> to be sent folder of the path where Internet File was installed (which is indicated in the message in question).
Sending the CCF file
If you want to send the CCF file directly from Internet File, after the creation of the latter, close the notice that appeared on the screen and fill in the fields Access to services with User Name , Password and Pin Code , then click on the Send button files . If you are sending the communication on behalf of another person , tick the relevant box.
If, on the other hand, you prefer to act as a browser , via the AdE website, connected to the main page of the latter , click on one of the options available in the right sidebar ( Login with SPID , Login with Agency credentials or Login with smart card ) and access your personal profile.
Then select the Services to> Send item from the left sidebar, then select the Direct Send item from the page that opens.
To conclude, select the type of document to be sent (eg succession declaration or single natural person declaration ) from the appropriate drop-down menu, click on the Choose file button , choose the CCF file to be sent to the AdE and press the Send button , to start uploading it.
In case of doubts or problems
Creating and sending CCF files for the Revenue Agency is simple, but a little cumbersome. In the event that, despite my indications, you have encountered difficulties in completing the procedure, try to consult the Body’s instructions on the forms and online transmission of the various communications (tax returns, VAT data communications, etc.).
