How to create a map in Minecraft? You have just built your shelter in Minecraft and started venturing into its surroundings. You would like to explore even the most distant places, but it is a bit difficult to find your way as you are afraid of getting lost and never finding your way home.
How to create a map in Minecraft
Things are like that, am I right? In that case, you don’t have to worry, because the easiest solution to solving this problem is to make a map.
Yes, you read that correctly: a map! This object is very useful during your adventures in Minecraft, since it shows everything that is around the avatar, as you progress in the exploration.
As this is exactly what you are looking for, you will be glad to know that in this guide I will illustrate how to create a map in Minecraft , in a few simple steps. In addition, I will also show you some methods to enlarge a map or clone one. If, on the other hand, you want to access the Minecraft adventure map, I will explain the procedures that you will need to follow to achieve this goal.
I bet you can’t wait to get started, am I right? Then sit back nice and comfortable and let’s not waste any more precious time – all you have to do is read carefully what I will tell you in the next chapters, to make sure you can create a map for your explorations as well. All that remains for me is to wish you a good read and most of all have fun!
Collect the necessary materials
Before telling you how to create a map in Minecraft , I want to show you the materials necessary to make it.
First, you need some paper made from sugar cane .
In addition to the paper, you need to create a compass . This tool is obtained by combining, on one workbench , 4 units of iron ingots and 1 unit of red stone powder .
When you are in possession of all these items, you just need to start making a map.
Create a map in Minecraft
Now that you know the resources that will be used to create a map, it’s time to see together how to make one. I advise you to read the following paragraphs carefully, in which I will explain how to create one and how to clone it or expand your scan range.
Make a map
To create a map, go to the workbench and make sure you have the resources I mentioned in this chapter: you need a compass and 8 units of paper . You should place the compass in the center of the slots and the card drives the rest.
Doing so will create an object, called an Empty Map . By equipping the latter and interacting with it, it will turn into a new item, called a map . Then you will be shown the mapping of what is around you, with a marker representing the position of your avatar.
I remind you that after interacting on the empty map , this will only register the face of the Minecraft world you are in.
This means that in order to have a more detailed map of the other sectors, you must create more maps and use them in other areas, as I described in the previous lines.
Expand a map
As I already told you in the previous chapters, a map represents only one quadrant of the Minecraft world. To be exact, it shows what the avatar is at the moment you interact with it.
If you want to extend the scan radius shown on the map, by extending the represented quadrants, you should get it 8 paper units . So what you should do is open a bank job and place the map on the center, next slot with the paper , to be inserted in all the remaining slots.
Doing so will generate a new map showing the same quadrant you saw earlier, with the addition of another area to explore. The moment you reach the unexplored quadrant, the area on the map will be unlocked.
This expansion process can be repeated up to four times, to create a map that represents an increasingly large area around the avatar.
The same procedure described above can also be performed using a mapping bench . Again, you need to put paper in the lower left slot of the map bank. Only 1 unit of card will do , unlike what the workbench requests.
At this point, place the map to expand in the upper left slot, to get a new expanded map in the right slot.
Clone a map
If you need to create multiple copies of the same map, Minecraft allows you to clone the object using the workbench or cartography bench .
Either way, what you need is an empty Map , which you can create using the tips I mentioned in this chapter, and the map to duplicate.
If you are using a cartography bank , insert the empty map in the lower left slot, while the one already drawn in the upper left slot. Doing so will duplicate the item, collecting two identical maps from the correct slot.
If you use a workbench , the procedure is similar, but you can create multiple copies in a single process. Then place the map in a slot on the workbench and fill the others with empty maps , depending on how many copies you want to create.
Create an adventure map in Minecraft
In Minecraft, you can create the adventure map . This is a game mode, accessible through command console , which makes the world of Minecraft indestructible, useful in the case of starting to customize in multiplayer mode, in which you do not want to allow any modification.
This mode can be accessed at any time via the command console by pressing the T button on the keyboard and typing the command / gamemode adventure , followed by pressing the present button .
In case you have not enabled the command console since the creation of the new game, you can do so from the Game Menu . All you have to do is press the Esc button and then the Open in LAN button . On the screen that is displayed, click on the command item , to display the wording yes .
At this point, press the button Start the world on LAN and you are done. From this moment on, you can enter the command I indicated in the previous lines to change the game mode to adventure .
To go back to the previous mode, use the command / survival of the game mode , for survival mode or / creative game mode so creative .
