How to convert PSD to JPG: He retouched photos with Photoshop and did you just realize that you saved them in PSD instead of JPEG? Don’t worry, it’s a situation that can be remedied quite easily.
PSD files are very useful, indeed essential for those who work in the field of graphics or photo retouching as they contain all the information on the levels, the texts and the color points, but to enjoy the photos they are not the best: they are very heavy and little compatible with software to view photos.
In light of this we ban the talk and see immediately how to convert PSD to JPG in series (or even individually) in the simplest possible way. With and without Photoshop.
If you want convert PSD to JPG in series and Photoshop is installed on your computer, you just have to start the latter and call up the voice Script> Image processor from the menu File.
In the window that opens, click on the button Select folder placed under the wording Select the images to be processed and indicates the folder containing the PSD files to be transformed into JPG (if you have not already done so, then bring them together in a single folder). Then choose whether to save the output images in the same position than those of origin or if select a different folder choosing one of the two options available under the wording Select the location to save the processed images and put the check mark next to the item Save as JPEG.
At this point, set a value between 7 is 10 in the field Quality (going below 7 is quite risky for the visual quality of the photos) and click on the button Run to start converting the selected photos.
If you need to convert a single image instead, open it normally in Photoshop using the menu File> Open and save it as a JPG by calling up the entry Save with name from the menu File and setting the option JPEG in the dropdown menu Save as present in the window that opens.
If Photoshop is not installed on your PC, you can try transform PSD to JPG using IrfanView, a free image viewer equipped with features for batch photo conversion. Thanks to a plugin, it is able to “digest” PSD files as well, but, I warn you, it gives you some problems with the images that have been exported from Photoshop without activating the option to increase compatibility with third-party applications.
To download IrfanView on your PC, connected to the program’s website and click on the item first Download located in the left sidebar, then on the item Fileforum – Download IrfanView and finally on the button Download now.
Once the download is complete, open the software installation package (e.g. iview438_setup.exe) and click on first Yup and then on Forward four times in a row e Done to complete the setup.
At this point you must also download the plugin that adds support for PSD files (and not only) in IrfanView. So connect to This Page on the IrfanView website and click on the item irfanview_plugins_438_setup.exe. Once the download is complete, start the plugin installation package and click on first Yup and then on Forward is OK to finish the setup.
To start converting files in IrfanView, start the application and go to the menu File> Batch Conversion / Rename. Then put the check mark next to the item Batch Conversion, set your voice JPG in the dropdown menu Output format and drag the PSD files to be transformed into JPG in the box located at the bottom right.
Finally, click on the button Browse, Select the folder to export the output images and press on Start Batch to start the conversion. If you want, you can also set the quality of the JPG files to be obtained by clicking on the button Options and using the adjustment bar available in the window that opens.
Do you need to convert a few PSD files from a computer without Photoshop? You can also resort to an online solution, such as CloudConvert which in a few simple clicks allows you to transform Photoshop PSD images into JPEG files compatible with any external application.
To use it, connected to its home page, click on the button Select files and select the PSD files to convert. Then presses on Start conversion and download the output images using the green buttons with written on them Download that appear next to their names.
