Before getting to the heart of the tutorial, going to explain how connect the AirPods to Samsungthere are some preliminary informationin this regard, which is my duty to provide you.

Let’s start from a fundamental premise: the AirPods, both those of first that of second generationas well as the Pro modelare earphones designed primarily for Apple-branded devices.

The AirPods, in fact, are equipped with a chip (H1), which allows the automatic recognition on iPhone And iPad when the charging case is opened and which automatically activates the earphones when they are worn, as long as the Bluetooth is enabled on iOS / iPadOS and the devices are neighbors among them, as I explained to you in detail in my tutorial on the subject.

When the AirPods are recognized by the iPhone and iPad, they become immediately usable on all the other devices connected to the same Apple IDwithout the need to repeat the above operations.

As for the association made directly on MacInstead, the procedure to follow is different: you need to select the AirPods from the list of Bluetooth devices available in the macOS settings.

The above procedure is practically the same as in the case of any other computer and device that supports Bluetooth connectivity, including non-Apple branded smartphones and tablets.

The only thing to take into account when using the AirPods on Samsung devices or any other device that is not distributed by the “bitten apple” company is that not all the functions offered by the earphones are usable.

The available features are the basic ones, so to speak. To take advantage of the advanced functions, such as the ability to check the battery charge status of the earphones, in the specific case of smartphones and tablets it is necessary to resort to the use of some third-party apps.

To do this, take your Samsung mobile (or tablet), unlock it, log in to home screen or al drawer and select the icon of Settings (the one in the shape of gear wheel). I also inform you that, if you deem it necessary, you can decide to rename the AirPods, always going to the section Settings> Connections> Bluetooth of Android, by tapping on the icon in the shape of gear wheel that you find in correspondence of the earphonesby selecting the item Rename located at the top and typing the new one in the field provided first name you intend to use.
