First, a distinction needs to be made between Microsoft account is local account. In fact, you should know that, starting from Windows 8.1, Microsoft allows its users to synchronize the data and settings of the PC using a Microsoft account. The account in question can also be used to create a user on the computer and to access it.

L’local accounton the other hand, it does not offer the possibility of synchronizing PC data and settings, as information is always stored locally, in fact, without sending anything to Microsoft servers. The behavior of a local account in Windows 10 is, therefore, practically the same as that of the accounts that it was possible to create on older versions of the Microsoft home operating system, as in the case of Windows 7, Vista or XP.

That said, both in case a Microsoft account is used and in case a local account is used, the first name associated with it is always and in any case modifiable, although in different ways. In the first case it is necessary to intervene via the Web, while in the second it is necessary to act using the PC commands.

Note, then, that the change in question allows you to change the name displayed in the boot screen Windows, in the Start menu and in any other area of the operating system. Proceeding in this way, it is good to specify it, the name of the user folder.
