Now, select the Access options item  from the left part of the window, find the word Password on the right and press the Change button below.

Then type the password currently in use in the Current password field and press the Next button at the bottom, enter the new password you want to use in the New password and Enter the password again fields , type a suggestion that in case of forgetfulness can come back to you useful to remember the secret word chosen and then press Next . Finally, click on Finish .

Note: If you see a message indicating that it has been entered incorrectly when you enter the password for the local user account you wish to change, make sure that CAPS LOCK is uninhabited.

To do this, click on the Shutdown button located in the bottom right corner of the login screen and while holding down the Shift key on the computer keyboard choose the option Restart the system from the menu that has opened. If you have forgotten the password for the Microsoft account that you use to access your Windows 10 PC and you want to find out how to change it, all you have to do is open the web browser from any other computer and connect to the specific page for the reset password by typing  account.live.com/password/reset in the address bar and then pressing the Enter key on the keyboard.

So select the option I forgot my password in response to the question Why can’t you log in? in the on-screen pane and click the Next button  at the bottom. Then enter the e-mail address associated with your Microsoft account in the field at the top, type the characters you see in the image below in the lower voting field and press the Next button once again .

Verify your identity by choosing how you prefer to receive the security code, then press Send the code and enter the code obtained in the appropriate field. So press on Next and enter the new password you want to use in the fields New password and Confirm the password on the screen then press again on Next two more times in a row and it’s done.

If when you are asked to choose an option to receive the security code you cannot access the e-mail address or the reference telephone number, select the option I do not have any of this info , press the Next button , type the recovery code in your possession in the appropriate field and press the Use rec code … button at the bottom. From now on, the procedure to follow is practically the same as that seen together in the previous lines.

If you do not even have a recovery code, press the No button on the web page displayed and follow the wizard that is proposed to you on the screen by answering the questions that are asked to you so that Microsoft can get in touch with you and allow you therefore to access your account and change the password associated with it.
