How to change version of Minecraft PC
If you want to find out how to change version of Minecraft and use the Java edition of the PC game, know that you just have to take advantage of the special function of the official launcher, or go through Forge. Find all the details below.
The easiest method to change the version of Minecraft to use on the PC is to use the official launcher.
To proceed, therefore, start the Minecraft Launcher and press on the item installations present at the top. Then click on the icon New located on the left and fill in the fields name of the installation, version, resolution is game directory.
If you don’t know what values to enter, I recommend simply typing the name of the installation (ex. “Old version 1.12.2”) and select the Minecraft version you want to use for your games, leaving all the other options unchanged. At this point, you just have to press the button Create, to create the profile that will allow you to play with a specific version of Minecraft.
If you want, however, to change the version of an existing game, just press on thethree dots icon present alongside the profile name and select the item Edit. Next, all you have to do is select the new version to use and press on the button Save.
Once the changes are finished, press on the writing PLAYS in the top left corner, click on the Minecraft version located at the bottom left and select the profile you just created. Now, you just have to click on the green button PLAYS, to start the version of Minecraft chosen.
Be careful though: going from one profile to another could lead to some changes in your game, given that maybe some features are not present in the version of Minecraft chosen. Either way, the game will warn you and explain everything to you, so you shouldn’t have any particular problems.
There is also another method for changing versions of Minecraft: installing new ones Forge profiles. In fact, the title of Mojang allows you to configure multiple profiles, so that the user can take advantage of all the existing mods for the game.
To install a Forge profile, simply connect to official Minecraft Forge website and press on the item Installer. If you are looking for Forge for a “dated” version of Minecraft (like 1.12.2), just click on the button Show all Version. Once the download is complete, you just have to start the file forge-[versione]-installer.jar obtained, select the item Install Client and press on the button OK.
Perfect, now you have successfully installed the new Forge profile. To use the latter, just select the appropriate one profile through thedown arrow icon present on the left, near the button PLAYS, in the main screen of the Minecraft Launcher.
You can have multiple Forge installations but, of course, the mods will only work in the versions of Minecraft for which they were made. In some cases, you may then be forced to create a new game to use a certain mod. How to change version of Minecraft PE
Even users of the mobile version of Minecraft may have the desire to change the version of the game in order to take advantage of certain content.
Well, this unfortunately it is not possible to go through official routes. In fact, the update of the game relies on Play Store (in the case of Android devices) or allApp Store (in the case of iPhone and iPad), which allow you to download only the most recent version of the Minecraft app.
Over the years, the community has found ways to do this downgrade. On Android, for example, packages can be downloaded Dated APK and install them on your device “manually”. However, this is a practice that I strongly advise against, since they could cause it problems both as regards the game and from the point of view of safety (as they would install applications from unverified sources).
In any case, I can assure you that Minecraft for mobile devices is quite fun even without having to go back to the old versions. In this regard, I recommend you take a look at the page of my site dedicated to the title of Mojang, where you can find countless Minecraft-related tips.
