If you have a PC with Windows installed and you are interested in understanding how to burn movies on DVD the first program that I recommend you try is  Freemake Video Converter , an excellent free video converter that combines incredible ease of use with a lot of advanced functions interesting, such as the one that allows you to convert DivX, MP4 files and other types of videos to DVD compatible with all living room players (complete with menus, if you wish).

To download it to your computer, click here to connect to its website then click the Free Download button   in the center of the screen and wait for the software download to start and complete.

When the download is complete, double-click on the newly obtained FreemakeVideoConverterSetup.exe  file  and click on Yes first   and then on  OK  and  Next . So remove the check mark from the item related to Wajam or any other “extra programs” proposed and click on  Next,  then select the word  Complete installation  and press once more on the Next button  . To finish, click on  Finish  and wait for the program window to be visible on the desktop.

When installation is complete, to create a DVD with Freemake Video Converter, press the + Video button  located at the top left and select the videos to convert. Burn movies to DVD with OS X

Burn

How to burn a DVD

If, on the other hand, you own a Mac and you are interested in understanding what to do to be able to burn movies on DVD, you must first convert the videos to MPG format using any free software suitable for the purpose such as  Total Video Converter Lite  and transfer the final result to a diskette. To do this, I suggest you use  Burn , an excellent free application for burning (which has not been updated for some time but is still functional).

To download Total Video Converter Lite contact the Mac App Store by clicking here , to download Burn connected instead to the program’s website by pressing here and click first on the Download icon   located at the bottom left and then on the Download Burn item  . When the download is complete, select the Burn icon and drag it to the Applications folder   of OS X to install the software on your computer.

At this point, open Total Video Converter Lite, drag the video to burn to DVD in the program window and select the  DVD video PAL  format as the output format.

When the conversion is complete, launch Burn, select the Video tab   from the main program window and set the DVD-video option   in the drop-down menu located at the top right. Then drag the videos obtained with Total Video Converter into the Burn window and press the Burn button   to complete the operation.

I want to point out that Burn also includes a function for converting videos to DVD. However, the latter does not always give good results and does not work with all video files that are found on the Internet today (for example, it does not read MKV files). For this reason, I recommend using Total Video Converter or another external converter and leaving Burn with the task of burning videos to DVD. Then, of course, the choice is up to you.

Roxio Toast Titanium

Burning software

If, on the other hand, you are willing to spend a few pennies and to buy a software to market, you can burn movies on DVD from your Mac using Roxio Toast Titanium . Unfortunately its price is not very accessible (89.99 euros) and it is not possible to try it for free, but it is difficult to find the most complete burning software of it.

It is in fact a program that can be safely defined as Nero for OS X. It represents in fact a real burning suite thanks to which it is possible to create any type of CD, DVD and Blu-Ray. The program also offers advanced multimedia functions for video editing and conversion. Thanks to Roxo Toast Titanium it is also possible to create videos for iPhone, iPad and other portable devices, share videos on social networks, record what is happening on the computer screen and much more. In short, nothing is missing!

To download Roxio Toast Titanium on your Mac, connected to the suite’s website by  clicking here and  then pressing the buttons that are shown on the screen to finalize the purchase.

Note: Occasionally you can find the suite at a discounted price or in a trial version on the MacUpdate website to which you can connect by  clicking here .
