Block email on Gmail from the web

If you want to find out how to block emails on Gmail by acting from the Web , the first step you need to take is to open the browser you generally use to surf the Net from your computer, go to the home page of the service and log in to your Google account. (if necessary).

Once logged in, if what you are interested in doing is marking specific emails as spam, click on the subject of the message you are interested in, in the list in the Inbox section ; then press the button with the three vertical dots located at the top right of the next screen and choose the Report spam option from the menu that appears.

If you want to mark multiple emails as spam at the same time, select the box next to the messages of your interest, in the section of Gmail dedicated to the inbox, and press the icon with the diamond and exclamation point located at the top.

If you have to think again, you can remove the emails from the spam list by selecting the Spam folder from the Gmail side menu, opening the message of your interest from the list on the right and pressing the Report as not spam button on the message screen.

Alternatively, you can act on multiple emails simultaneously, by checking the box that you find in their correspondence and clicking on the item Not spam located at the top of the screen where there is the list of messages.

You can also decide to block the reception of unwanted emails by using the filters . To do this, click on the gear wheel icon at the top right and select the Settings item from the menu that appears. From the screen that is proposed to you, click on the Filters and blocked addresses tab and select the item Create a new filter .

In a new window that will be shown to you at this point, fill in the available fields to define the filter rules according to which to block spam; then press the Create filter button , indicate the action to take when you receive messages corresponding to the characteristics just specified, press the Create filter button again and that’s it.

In case of second thoughts, you can remove the filters set by clicking again on the gear wheel icon located at the top right, selecting the Settings item from the menu that appears, clicking on the Filters and blocked addresses tab and first selecting the delete link that you find next to the filter of your interest (in the list in the center of the page) and then on the OK button .

Grab your device, unlock it, access the home screen or drawer and start the Gmail app , touching the relative icon (the one with the white and red envelope ). Also, log in to your Google account (if necessary).

Now that you see the main screen of the application, to mark a particular message as spam, tap on the subject of the latter, in the section dedicated to the inbox; then touch the icon with the three vertical dots present at the top right and choose the option Report as spam from the menu that appears.

If you need to, you can mark multiple emails as spam simultaneously, by going to the main screen of the app, pressing and continuing to hold down for a few moments on the messages you are interested in going to act, so as to select them, doing tap on the button with the three vertical dots located at the top right and choosing the option Report as spam from the menu that appears.

In case of second thoughts, you can remove the emails from the spam list, by tapping the button with the three horizontal lines that you find in the upper left part of the main screen of the app, choosing the item Spam from the menu that opens, by selecting the message of your interest and then clicking on the button Report as not spam that you find in the body of the email.

To act on multiple messages simultaneously, select them by pressing and continuing to hold down the object for a few moments; then tap on the button with the three vertical dots located at the top right and choose the option Report as not spam from the menu that opens.

If you use Gmail from the web , to block a specific e-mail address, open the message that was sent to you by the latter, selecting it in the service screen relating to the inbox, click on the button with vertical dots that it is located in the upper right part of the new screen displayed and choose the Block “username” option from the menu that appears. Then confirm your intentions by clicking the Block button .

If you have to think again, you can unlock a specific email address by proceeding as follows: click on the gear wheel icon located in the upper right part of the Gmail screen, select the Settings item from the menu that appears and go to the Filters and Blocked Addresses tab on the next screen.

Then click on the unblock link that you find next to the email address of your interest in the list in the center, then click on the Unblock button in response to the warning that appears.
