App to block a number on LG
As I mentioned at the beginning of the tutorial, it is also possible to use app to block a number on LG. Below I describe the operation of a couple of them, which surely could come in handy, especially if you want to block calls from call centers and other known annoyances.
One solution I invite you to try to block a number on your LG device is Truecaller. In case you haven’t heard of it, this is a very famous app that boasts a database that collects billions of phone numbers, allowing you to block calls from call centers, scammers, pollsters and other known “nuisances” in the bud.
Before explaining how TrueCaller works, I want to tell you that the app is free, but to use it you must agree to enter your mobile number in its public database, which makes your number traceable by all users subscribed to the service both through its official app (available both for Android that for iOS) and through his web version.
If you are willing to accept the “compromises” described above, install and start TrueCaller on your device and register for the service by following the instructions that appear on the screen. Then press the button Start placed at the bottom, give the app permission to access calls, contacts and messages, type yours cellphone number in the appropriate text field and tap the button Accept and continue.
Now you just have to wait for the number to be verified (you will receive a phone call which you will not have to answer) and, if necessary, enter the verification code that you will receive via SMS to the number indicated, then confirming the operation by pressing the button Keep it going. At this point, enter yours first name And surname in the appropriate text field, presses the button Keep it going And that’s it. Once registration is complete, set your preferences regarding the display of advertisements by replying Yup or No to the questions you are asked and tap the button Forward.
Now, scroll through the information sheets that show you how the app works by always pressing on Forward And I got it, and activate the setting by which to block calls from unknown numbers: to do this, tap on the icon shield at the top right and select the item Lock settings from the screen that opens.
Then move up ON the switch lever next to the option Block well known spammers and possibly also the one located near the item Block private numbers. By doing so, calls from call centers, scammers and other known annoyances will be blocked.
From time to time, remember to update the database with the numbers to be blocked by clicking on the icon shield located on the main TrueCaller screen and tap the button Update the main annoyances.
If you want, you can also block individual numbers. To do this, press the icon of shield, tap the button (+), select one of the options you want to activate to block a specific number (eg. Block a country code, Block a number, etc.) and complete the operation by providing the information requested.
Should you decide to stop using TrueCaller, remember to deactivate your account by going to the menu (≡)> Settings> Privacy center> Deactivate account and requesting the removal of your number from the public list of the service by submitting the request using the form on this web page.
Should I Answer
Not willing to accept the privacy compromises TrueCaller requires? I think I have a solution that can be right for you: Should I Answer. This free app (also available for iOS and how online service) allows you to block calls from call centers and other known “annoyances” automatically, based on its database which is constantly fed thanks to the contribution of users.
