Amic Email Backup (Windows)

Are you using a PC with Windows installed on it? Then let me tell you about Amic Email Backup . It is an e-mail backup program thanks to which it is possible to save e-mail messages received and sent via the major clients, including Microsoft Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird and IncrediMail, in a safety copy, and to easily restore the everything when needed. It is paid but can be downloaded in a free trial version that works without limitations for 15 days.

To use it, first of all connect to the download page of the program available on the CNET website, then click on the Download Now button located at the top left and wait a few moments for the software download to start. If the download does not start automatically, click on the restart the download link. to force it.

When the download is complete, open the executable file you just obtained, click on Run and then on Yes . In the window that you will then see appear on the desktop, first click on the OK button to confirm the use of the Italian language and then on the Next button for four consecutive times. Then click Install and then click Finish to complete the installation procedure and start the software.

In the program window that will now open on the desktop, click on the Continue item to access the main screen of Amic Email Backup. If the interface is still in English, click on the Options tab and then on the drop-down menu next to Language and select Italian to carry out the translation. Then click on the Save button to ensure that the changes made are applied.

Now, to make a backup copy of your emails and the settings of your email program, go to the Save tab and select the reference client from the list located on the left side, then click on the […] button located under the Save in item : to choose the folder where to save the data and click on the Create save button! to start the save procedure.

Instead, to restore previously saved emails, just double-click on the safety copy that was created by Amic Email Backup. In the window that opens, click on Continue , then on Next three consecutive times and finally on Exit to finish the operation. Simple, isn’t it?

MailStore (WIndows)

The resource I told you about in the previous lines did not convince you in a particular way and are you therefore looking for a valid alternative to be able to backup your emails? Then the advice I can give you is to rely on MailStore . This is a no-cost program for Windows operating systems that allows you to create a backup copy of Hotmail, Gmail and other e-mail services as well as various computer clients, saving both received and sent messages on the PC hard disk . Let’s see immediately how to make the most of it.

First of all, connect to the program’s website and click on the Download MailStore Free (Home) button at the top so as to immediately start the software download procedure.

Now that the program window is displayed on the desktop, click on Finish in the MailStore welcome screen and then select the Archive e-mail item that you find in the Quick access section and configure the backup procedure by typing in the field under the Account and- mail on the left your e-mail address. Then click on Start , provide your login credentials and click OK in response to the warning indicating that the configuration has been completed.

Now, select the profile you just created from the Profiles table below and click on the Run button that you see appearing on the right. You will then see another window appear through which you can follow the progress of the procedure.

If, before starting the backup process, you wish to manage the operations relating to the selected mail account, click on the Properties … button which you will always find in the right part of the MailStore window after selecting the profile and adjust all the proposed parameters as well as you think it is more appropriate.

Then select the correct one from the options you find in the Mail client column and follow the configuration procedure proposed on the screen. Mail Backup X (Mac)

Are you using a Mac? In that case, the resources I told you about in the previous lines are not suitable as they are specific to Windows. You can rely on Mail Backup X to deal with it though. It is a commercial software but also usable in a free trial version (the one I used to write this post) that allows you to backup emails received and sent on various email services (Gmail, Yahoo etc.) and on various clients (Mail, Postbox etc.), both manually and automatically. It is quite simple to use and also proves to be sufficiently intuitive.

To serve, first of all connect to the program’s website and then click on the Download Now button twice in a row. When the download is complete, open the .dmg package obtained and double-click on the .pkg file contained within it to start the program installation procedure. In the window that you will see appear on the screen, click on the Continue button , on Install and on Finish .

Now, start the application by going to the macOS Applications folder , right-clicking on it and choosing Open for two consecutive times in order to open Mail Backup X, however, going around the limitations imposed by Apple against unauthorized developers and then choose to start using the trial version of the program and select the Setup a new backup profile option from the screen you see .

Then indicate the e-mail client or e-mail service for which you intend to go to act and click on Next , enter the access data and other information requested and always press the Next button  and verify that all the folders referred to you intend to back up are selected (and if not, you do it yourself).

Then indicate, by checking the option you prefer in the Chose a backup schedule section:, whether to backup emails automatically, manually or recurring, specify the destination location via the Storage Locatons section: which is at the top and leads at the end of the whole procedure by pressing on Done .

Once the backup is complete, you can then read, import and manage your emails by selecting the correct option ( Import Data from an existing file or Restore exported profile ) from the screen that will be shown when you first start the program.

Generic backup solutions
