Aruba PEC activation: cost

Before explaining in detail how to activate an Aruba PEC , I want to make sure that you understand the main characteristics of certified email boxes, which differ substantially from traditional email addresses. It seems only right to tell you the cost of the service (I advance you that it is not possible to activate Aruba PEC for free ).

Well, the PEC , acronym for certified e-mail , is a tool that can be used by citizens, companies and the Public Administration to send e-mails with the same legal value as a registered letter with return receipt. This happens because the emails sent from certified e-mail to certified e-mail have a notification system that certifies their acceptance by the manager and also that they have been delivered to the recipient.

Furthermore, since 2013, for all companies, sole proprietorships and Freelancers enrolled in an association or board, it is mandatory to have a PEC address. Having a PEC address can also be useful for private citizens (but it is optional), given the simplicity of use and the legal validity of the communications sent through it.

Furthermore, to send an email via PEC, it is not necessary to have special devices or software: just access the relative Web interface offered or use any e-mail program that supports IMAP or POP3 protocols (eg Microsoft Outlook and Mozilla Thunderbird) . Furthermore, special apps are also often made available for smartphones and tablets , just like the one offered by Aruba for Android and iOS / iPadOS .

As far as the price is concerned , Aruba offers different subscription plans with variable costs according to your needs: here they are in detail.

  • PEC Standard – allows you to obtain a 1 GB PEC mailbox, accessible from the Web, client and from smartphones and tablets, via the app. It also includes an antivirus protection tool and its cost is 5.00 euros + VAT per year. From the second year, however, the price is 7.90 euros + VAT per year.
  • PEC Pro – allows you to get a PEC box with 2 GB of space and 3 GB of archive. The other features are SMS notifications and virus and spam filter. It is accessible via the web, client and also via the specific app for mobile devices. It costs 25 euros + VAT per year.
  • PEC Premium – allows you to obtain a PEC mailbox with 2 GB of space and 8 GB of archive. It costs 40 euros + VAT per year and even in this case it is a solution accessible from the Web, client and smartphone application. It also offers virus and spam filtering and SMS notifications.

You can then increase the space available in your mailbox by paying 5 euros + VAT per year for each additional GB. The Standard plan can reach a maximum of 1 GB of extra space, while the Pro and Premium plans can be expanded without limits.

It should be noted that there is also the possibility of activating PEC Aruba on a domain , starting from € 7.90 + VAT per year for those who already have a custom domain on Aruba.

For further details, I suggest you consult the section of the Aruba PEC website with the comparative table.
