Cover pictures: What would a Facebook or Twitter profile be without a nice cover? Well, in reality it should all depend on its content but, you know, even the eye wants its part … so better not to think too much about the matter and to spruce up your social page in the best possible way. Without overdoing it, of course.
To this end, today I want to suggest some very convenient online services that allow you to create cover pictures for Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and other social networks or to download some ready-to-use for free. In short, you really have no more excuses to overlook the look of your online profile!
If you want to create cover pictures for your social profiles, connected to the website Autre Planète which allows you to adapt your photos to the cover formats of Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and other social networks in an extremely easy and fast way.
Then select the service for which you want to create your cover from the menu located in the left sidebar (eg. Facebook) and click on the button Create placed under the heading Cover image (for Facebook), Header image (for Twitter) or Background Image (for Google Plus), in order to start the editor for the creation of the cover.
At this point, click on the button Add your file and select from your PC the image you want to turn into a cover. All major graphic file formats are supported. Once the upload is complete, use the mouse to select the portion of the image to use as the cover and click on the button Apply located at the top of the page to crop it. You can also rotate or flip the photo, using the buttons Rotate And Flip.
Once you have the image in cover format, you can enrich and personalize it with various special effects: the ones you preview at the top of the screen. By clicking on theequalizer you can also adjust parameters such as the image sharpness level (Sharpen), its degree of blur (Blur), the noise (Noise) and saturation (button Desaturated to lower it). When you are satisfied with the result, click on the icon rescue (the one with the blue arrow, located at the top right) to download your cover to your PC.
If you go looking for cover pictures for Facebook ready to use, I suggest you take a look at the site FBCoverStreet that totally free and without any registration obligation allows you to download dozens of covers for the social network created by Mark Zuckerberg.
Using it is very simple. Connect to its main page and view the types of covers available by selecting the item Categories from the drop-down menu Newest. A page will open with the list of all cover categories hosted by FBCoverStreet: click on the one that interests you the most (eg. Video Games for images dedicated to video games, Movies for covers inspired by the world of cinema or Animals for photos of animals) and browse all the images available on the site. To load the complete list of categories click on the button More categories located at the bottom of the page.
Now all you have to do is start downloading the cover you like best by first clicking on its thumbnail and then on the button Download, twice in a row.
Once the download is complete, you can apply the cover to your Facebook profile by connecting to it, placing the mouse cursor on the current cover and clicking on the button Change cover. Then select the item Upload photos from the menu that opens and choose the image you just downloaded from FBCoverStreet to apply it to your page.
If you go looking for cover pictures for Twitter, visit the website TwitrCovers which offers hundreds of covers for the profiles of the famous micro-blogging service. Again, there is very little to explain about how it works.
All you have to do is browse the list of available covers using the mouse wheel or, if you want to consult the images based on their category, place the mouse cursor on the button Categories (located at the top left) and select one of the items in the menu that appears: Abstract for abstract illustrations, Cars for photos of cars, Places for landscapes and so on.
When you have found the cover you want to apply to your Twitter profile, click on its thumbnail and then on the link Download Image Manually placed immediately below the image to view it in full size. On the page that opens, right-click on the photo and select the item Save image as from the menu that appears to download it to your PC.
When the download is complete, to apply the cover to your Twitter profile, connect to it and click on the button Edit profile. Then select the icon of pencil located at the top right and click on Upload photos to set the image you just downloaded from TwitrCovers as a cover.
You are a very active user on Google+? Then connect to the site Google Plus Covers and download a beautiful image to set as the cover of your profile. Find all the categories of covers available under the heading Google+ Covers Categories, in the left sidebar.
To download a cover, you have to click on its thumbnail twice consecutively, then you have to select the full-size image with the right mouse button and choose the item Save image as from the menu that appears. When the operation is completed, to use the image as the cover of Google Plus, connected to your profile page, position the mouse pointer on the current cover and first click on the button Change cover and then on Load And Select a photo from your computer. Easy, right?
